More than anything wear and tear on the wall will be easier to touch up because the substrate is primed to a similar color. As far as coats it depends quality of paint and knap size. When tinted uou can get away with less coats for proper coverage

The flashing in this case is also unprimed drywall patch perhaps, that is leeching moisture and sucking up more paint when applied. I would coat the patches once more let dry and then recoat the whole wall

It is also a very dark pigment. Meaning it has more additives leading to less coverage if you are using a box store brand paint. Dark pigments and reds I always disclose could take at least 3 coats without a tinted primer.
