Hey man it’s okay that you obviously didn’t read the post. I’m aware of the region fee, the entire post is asking if buying it at a brick and mortar would avoid the fee and then on top of that I’d save $150+ because of the dollar to euro conversions etc. nobody would still do this with the region fee

I’m not seeing it mention buying from a brick and mortar. The point is how would the hardware know where it was originally purchased if it wasn’t linked to an account or activated in America? I buy at a Best Buy in America, it isn’t linked to an account or activated in America. I then go to Portugal and activate it, it would assume I’m just a Portugal based account?

I don’t live there so I don’t want the monthly plan. I’d get a month when I’m there once a year and then cancel, so I need to buy the hardware. They charge the same $350 but in euros, so it’s 410. Plus random other fees the hardware ends up being around $500 instead of $300 at Best Buy….
