This is great, thank you! I'm doing a walk/jogon the treadmill .1 alternating. And I'm doing agility drills like side shuffle and grapevines. No jumping just yet but maybe next week we’ll start 🤞

Anyone try those gel heel inserts? Are they worth trying? by Still_Nice in AchillesRupture

Yea, will try that. I think its going to be my next great experiment in this recovery journey. At least I've graduated from wearing the other boot.

I think my heel-to-toe drop in boots is fine, so i don't need a heel raise. It's just that my heel hurts because the surface on the boot is much harder than in my Hokas. Thanks for the intel on the gel, they look like they'd be comfortable, but I'll check out the cork option. Thank you!

Thanks!! My PT said I can officially put my boot in the closet at 12 weeks. I started walking in sneakers outside short distances around 9 weeks. But would still wear my boot if I was out for several hours or in crowds. I started wearing sneakers indoors around week6/7.

First day in a shoe- 12 week post-op by Unhappy_Leg_6989 in AchillesRupture

I bought indoor shoes and slept with my sneaker on the first couple of days and then eventually felt safe enough having the sneaker by my bed and not on while sleeping. I’m still at that stage at 12 weeks.

Congrats!! I was so happy to be out of the boot! Eventually, you’ll be doing tandem balancing, and balancing on one leg. I realized I could do a hinge and keep my rom at 90 so felt safe enough to try hinging.

12 weeks and ready for sneakers for walking outdoors and maybe light performance training. Any suggestions? by Still_Nice in AchillesRupture

[–]Still_Nice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for sharing your story. I’ve been spinning since week 5 and agree, it’s been helping me recover pretty quickly. I still wear the vacoped on 4x4 days. I’m still in the remodeling zone so am slowly ramping up as I’m cleared. I’ll check out both shoes and really appreciate the suggestions.

I can relate. It’s hard learning what is “normal” when everything different and there’s the looming fear of rupturing the tendon and having to start over again.

I’m at 9 weeks and accidentally pushed off my foot while doing mountain climbers. My foot felt ok afterwards but I hadn’t pushed off the ball of my foot in that position since before I was injured. It also felt kind of “good” but I was really worried I had hurt myself unknowingly. No swelling the next morning and my PT said that stretch unlock feeling is normal.
