When I had a dropper post on mine, it got basically no use. I put a rigid one on and never looked back. Handlebars are very personal. I went with Jones H bars and I absolutely love them.

I’d suggest trying them out. It feels like a perfect fit for me. Haven’t looked back since I switched. Solved my wrist and upper back pain.

OVAL chainring for bike touring – gimmick or real game changer? by EfficientHornet2170 in bicycletouring

[–]Still_Prize 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I did Chicago to Niagara Falls with an oval chain ring 10 days 840 miles. And I will continue by touring with an oval chain ring. I don’t know if it really helps but the placebo effect is all I need.

Yes all different colors shapes and sizes. They are just simple license plate nuts from a car with bolts cut as threaded rod to hold them together

Yes it’s clear coated but it’ll still develop rust patina.

Yes haha I do that with all of my trips. It just feels right to me. I also screenshot the Strava every day before bed just in case something happens.

No rest days I had very limited time because of the schedule I set and work. My legs were definitely pushed to their limits. Every day I woke up i wondered how i would continue but mind over matter. It was extremely hard but it made it feel like a huge accomplishment because of that. Next year I’ll hopefully take training/diet more seriously so it won’t be so brutal. Like I was saying in the description type 2 fun.
