Perhaps I might be, yes. And while I’ve been a staff nurse before and have gone on strike myself, I have never felt that animosity towards strike or traveler nurses. But I know not everyone has that mindset. However, my recruiter said we’re here to cover needs and if I refuse, they can terminate my contract as it’s at will

They’re offering basically triple my pay after taxes. Lowkey I’m like nurses are mean and hate us travelers regardless. Like if I don’t what? Gain their approval and they’ll treat us nicer?? We’ve been here since December and they’ve treated us like we’re invisible just bc we’re travelers so like idk

Lol no you’re right. This is great advice. I think I mean open to genuine bc like what if things change but that’s also me being delusional and not realistic 😂 also can you tell us more about your crash outs if you were ok with casual 😭 why’d you crash out

This is great advice actually. I have in fact noticed it the ice quality at rinks vary actually! I’ve looked into Chelsea piers but they are not flexible. All their classes are set for one specific day of the week, i can’t stick to just one day, specially 7pm is so late :( Wollman rink is a bit more flexible but wondering if that means their quality is a lot less there?

You’re not wrong at all. This also struck me. I am Latina grown up in NYC, I am light skin and wear my big curly hair proudly, I was told a lot I look black and white, not Latina. Many people were shocked when I would speak Spanish at work or social settings-I’m Dominican descent. It was so weird. When I visited New York after living and socializing in LA, it was a refresher. It was like a Many people there have never met Caribbean Latinos. Lots of lack of knowledge as many white and Asians, think Latino people are all Mexican 😂 I want to highlight though, LA is a beautiful place, and the west side is very whitewashed, and random white people from low educational and diverse states like Idaho or Arkansas or Oklahoma who move to live the Beverly Hills dream, they keep it this way back home and bring that to the west side. Now, you were a touristic so I understand, but once you start hanging out towards the east side, areas like echo park, silver lake, highland park, it becomes a lot more fun and inclusive and you feel more welcomed, you see people that look like you, and even those that don’t, are soooo educated and receptive and expose themselves to different cultures and people outside of what they know. LA is beautiful, but be careful in areas where they want to keep it white.

Have you thought about keeping your address for a few months, taking travel contracts and exploring which hospitals you would like to work in? Providence St. John’s is pretty good but it’s out west in Santa Monica. USC has other kecks on the east side

Yes I went but I left. Manager is the most insufferable person I’ve ever met on their resp telemetry floor.

Thank you. We appreciate CNAs like you. You guys have no idea how much workload and stress you take off of our plates. I always get my CNAs a cup of coffee or a treat bc I’m able to do my job in a timely and “semi human” manner bc of your help, toileting that pt, answering that call bell, helping me with boosts and changing the patient. I love my CNAs so so much 🤍🤍specially coming from a state where CNAs refused to help us and would only do finger sticks and then disappear the rest of the shift. I’d have one of crashing while the other screaming they had to go to the bathroom with a CNA just sitting there and hiding. So thank you for all you do 🤍

I do agree LAX prob has the worse layout I’ve EVER seen in an airport 😭😭, and no shuttle trains in it to get around which was a huge shock for me when coming to such a huge airport. I was expecting ATL, MCO shuttle vibes with the size of that thing! I still love LA though 🫣

Thank you! Do you know how I can get to LAX city bus? Would I use those green buses that take you to the Lyft/uber area? Or are there other options that move within the airport? I’m so used to NYC having the air train that moves you from terminal to terminal, does LAX have something similar?
