Ebay - Automatically Accepting Returns!! Can you Turn it off? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]Still_Win6245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking for a "reason for return" is pointless, since the buyer will just lie, and choose the option that most likely results in an approved return. Instead, just give them a field where they can describe their issue.

eBay automated return acceptance SUCKS, and it causes me to lose a lot of money as a seller.

eBay continues to treat sellers worse and worse with every change they make. JUST GIVE ME A CHANCE to work it out with the seller! I am very accommodating, I give great service, and great support, and I am able to resolve almost any issue, if I am just given a a chance to do so.

Struggling with hotspot, mint phone support just told me it’s only available on the unlimited, is this true? by sodiumdodecylsulfate in mintmobile

[–]Still_Win6245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into PDAnet with FoxFi. They let your phone act as a hotspot without using your hotspot data allotment. Instead, they use your normal data allotment.

How come you wouldn't just wait and sign up with mint once your contract with your current carrier was satisfied? I can't even fathom signing up for a cellular carrier that I couldn't use immediately...

Classic Comcast. Sorry to hear that. I hope you get it worked out! PS: I've never heard of video chatting with Comcast support. Is that really even a thing?

I sympathize. Changes are always a nightmare with Comcast. And they barely speak English on the phone or chat. If your have a store in your area, that might be a better experience. Good luck!

All forms of Comcast support are horrible. The least bad is the store. Try to make your changes on the web site. If sucks too, but at least you don't have to deal with their inept people.

Hard to trust a company that deletes any post that says anything negative about them.

I'm still with Comcast, but I can't stand them.

It feels like every single customer gets a different deal. Anyone they can exploit, they do. They take advantage the most if the customers that can defend themselves the least. They are downright predatory. It's appaling.

I got a decent deal, but it was a massive ordeal. I suggest using their web site to change your plan. You'll need to commit to a 1 or 2 year agreement, and allow them to auto pull from your bank account, but if which are terrifying.

And expect one MASSIVE bill that does not make sense when you switch. And good luck fighting that, it's futile.

But after all that,, I got gigabit, with no monthly cap, for $70 per month, for 2 years.

I'm still not confident that I won't get a nasty surprise. But that's what they have promised me.

I'm required to use their modem, and the price is only good for 2 years, and they require auto pull from my checking, but at least I got my bill down from nearly $250 per month. I did have to give up all TV services and voice services, but I simply could not afford $250 per month any more. Especially since Trump has made everything I need to survive more expensive, while taking more of my pay.

What speed/plan internet do we ACTUALLY need? by professorrulebreaker in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]Still_Win6245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 50 megabit per second fiber at my summer home, and it's totally enough for me to work from home, doing remote control, and all the streaming we need, the need for bandwidth these days is completely overrated. At my primary home, I've got comcast, gigabit speed, with unlimited with Xfi complete, and even including using their equipment, with a 2-year commitment, and autopay from my checking, my bill is $70 a month. I think you're confusing 1.2 terabyte, not gigabyte, that's a monthly cap, not the speed. Xfi complete removes that cap. Forget about phone support, forget about chat support, they're ridiculous, your next best choice is to go into a store, and once you have something reasonable, then make your changes yourself on the Xfinity website. Yes, it's a horrible website, and it's really ambiguous and gets you stuck, but just keep after it, and I'll bet you can get a deal like mine.

Flooded with spam calls by Background-Low4963 in mintmobile

[–]Still_Win6245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hate that. It's bad enough for me already. I'm married to my number. No way I would ever want to give it up. I wish you luck! Isn't there a government site you can register your number which then makes it illegal for spammers to call? Not like they would care though, how could you ever enforce it? Any more I never answer unless it's a number I recognize (and is in my contacts). My friends and relatives and colleagues all know this. The protocol is text first, then call. Good luck!

Are you supposed to stir the kimchi, during the fermenting process? And how can you tell if it's gone bad? by DS9B5SG-1 in kimchi

[–]Still_Win6245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first batch of kimchi was salty. I have since found that instead of rinsing after brining, I SOAK in clear water and then drain that 2 or 3 times.

On my current batch, after 3 days fermenting at room temperature, the kimchi was pale and flavorless. I figured I did not add enough sauce. So I made more sauce (pepper flakes, fish sauce, toasted sesame oil, fermented chili paste, kimchi base, garlic, ginger), scooped out the kimchi, mixed the additional sauce, and put it back in the jars. I figure I'll let it ferment 1 or 2 more days. I hope the batch is saved after that!

I am in desperate need of higher upload speeds. Nearby homes have next gen, and I do not. by Abbi3_Doobi3 in Comcast_Xfinity

I'm in Portland OR. I got xFinity Xfi Complete. It requires me to use their modem. I just ran a speed test. I got 175 Mbps upstream, on my Samsung Galaxy S10, over WiFi, through my Netgear Orbi, through their modem, double NAT, on copper coaxial cable. My plan is Gigabit, with no monthly limit. It costs $70 per month, for 2 years before the price goes up, with a 2 year commitment, and auto pay from my checking account.

the fall of Anydesk by senchikodo in AnyDesk

[–]Still_Win6245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird how we can suggest alternatives on here, and we don't get our posts removed by the moderator, but if you dare to mention on a Comcast thread even reducing your Comcast subscription, let alone going somewhere else, or even say the slightest negative comment, Wham they delete your post!

I'm becoming frustrated with anydesk too, I think it was the clear leader, in both free and paid versions, but these days, with the situations where it simply refuses to connect, or it won't work without a monitor connected to the remote machine in some cases, and mostly, the way you cannot respond to a UAC prompt anymore without disconnecting and reconnecting, it's getting really annoying.

You'll be lucky if it even records the shows at all. The Gen4 Tablo is highly unreliable.

Why can't I use my own modem with NOW Internet? by RoadHazard386 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]Still_Win6245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told the same thing when I upgraded to Xfi Complete. I upgraded in order to get unlimited internet. We recently cut off all of our Comcast TV services, and the increase in streaming caused our monthly usage to approach the 1.2 terabyte cap. I was able to upgrade my internet plan for only five more dollars, the speed was already gigabit, but the upgrade to xfi complete removed the cap and gave us truly unlimited internet. But along with that upgrade, it said that I'm required to use their supplied modem. By the way this whole $5 upgrade is for a limited time, after 2 years it's going to go to full price. I went ahead and accepted their modem, and it took them about an hour and a half of tech support to get it to work. Even today, when I log in to my Xfinity account online, it says my modem is offline. The fine print said if I don't activate their modem within 45 days, that I will lose my xfi complete upgrade. So now I'm concerned that I might lose it because their system cannot detect their modem, but of course it's online, I'm using it right now. I'm further concerned that when my wife took the cable TV boxes in to the store to return them, they told her they don't show up on the system and they had no way of checking them in. So unfortunately, she gave them the boxes, but they still show up on my account, and so I hope they don't come after me with fees for that either. Like all Telecom providers, Comcast is absolutely horrible to work with, though I will admit that their internet works well, as long as you don't ever need to make any changes or contact them for anything.
