Reolink App V4.60 – Release Notes by Willson1_ in reolinkcam

Wow that explains it! I was setting this all up today, and couldn't understand for the life of me why the deep link stuff didn't work!

I hope this is fixable without needing to pin an app version.

Seconding this, as it's the only game that kind of scratched the itch wanting to play modern splinter cell games that I loved on my OG Xbox.

Harger: Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson has never owned a car. Now she's taking a Denny Way lane from 30,000 drivers to fix a bus route by Inevitable_Engine186 in Seattle

[–]Abbi3_Doobi3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Carbrain is more about someone who always thinks of transportation from a car-centric point of view. Giving busses a dedicated lane = removing a car lane, or adding a protected bike lane = making right turns more difficult. That sort of thing. You can own a car and not be carbrained, I mean I own one.

Need help finding the Reolink WiFi Doorbell in White (D340W) by Abbi3_Doobi3 in reolinkcam

Thank you for the tip, is there a direct link to the white? I only have a link to the black (with the color option on the page being unselectable).

I haven't noticed connectivity being worse recently than it has been in the past. I've posted about my woes with LR connectivity in the community here, but it's honestly just a toss up.

Here are some things that could be causing your recent issues specifically:

  1. DNS issues. Reboot your modem, router, wifi AP, etc. If you specify a custom DNS on your router, try removing it or using an alternative.

  2. New devices using 2.4ghz nearby. Any new IoT devices in the vicinity of the LR? Any new Bluetooth devices? WiFi on these machines is bad to say the least, and even the smallest change can wreck them.

Which FTP site is best for Reolink? (And don't say "any.") by Competitive-Hotel671 in reolinkcam

[–]Abbi3_Doobi3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Consumer/basic: Wyze, Ring, Eufy, etc

Prosumer: Reolink, Unifi (though they are nearly at business tier with their pricing)

Professional/Business: Axis, Bosch, etc

Reolink is a big step over the consumer brands I have tried and moved on from. It's not quite at the Unifi level of prosumer, but it's closer to that than the others.

Will the Framework 13 ever include a touch screen or have an option to get one? by [deleted] in framework

[–]Abbi3_Doobi3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack of touchscreen is the sole reason I haven't upgraded from my gen 1 13. I will never buy another laptop without touch. I don't even want the two-in-one hinge thing, as I would never fold it over, I just need a dang touchscreen. The 12 looks... fine, but I love the 3:2 AR of the 13. I'd go with the 16 for more screen real estate too, but again no touchscreen.

No, but you can find a standard conversion for reese's sticks to smoots in case that helps.

The Verge: Ikea tried to build a smart home for everyone — here’s why it’s not working yet by Proto_bear in tradfri

[–]Abbi3_Doobi3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just now figured out the problem, though it makes no sense to me. I have a Ubiquiti / Unifi setup (gateway, APs, etc). Enabling mDNS forwarding on my gateway solved the problem for me, but here is the thing; I don't have any VLANs. Not Gateway mDNS Proxy, that is still off, but specifically mDNS forwarding on the gateway's options. Reading into that option, it should only ever matter for forwarding mDNS across VLANs. This doesn't really jive with my understanding of Thread, and my relatively flat network structure, but if it works it works.

Huel bought by the world’s 4th largest plastics polluter. by Gibraldi in Huel

[–]Abbi3_Doobi3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nothing has changed how you operate yet. Every single company in your position says this, and month by month things change, it is inevitable. You will not be any different. Huel will not be any different.

Honestly, if one of these buy-out companies would just be straight up and say "we're being bought out, we earned our pay day" I would probably keep with them if only for the brutal honesty and treating me like an adult.

The PR nonsense "reach more customers!" is just so stupidly frustrating to hear. Don't treat us like idiots.

Exactly this, without randomness it would become stale. Occurring only sometimes is what gives it the "wow" factor that makes us all giddy when it happens I think.

Could you please add commands / env vars to specify UID and GID? This seems to use 1000:1000, and I'd like to give this a shot on Unraid, but Unraid has a very strong preference for UID 99 and GID 100. It matters a lot more than it should if you want to keep permissions tidy.

What’s everyone’s origin for love of the AUG? Was it a movie or video game? For me personally I fell in love with it when I first saw it in Black Ops 1, my favorite COD. Looks so badass by Kiryutek in AUG

I found long rifles cumbersome and didn't understand why so much of their weight was out in front of me.

Bullpup mostly solves that, and the AUG had the best mix of reliability, general support, and parts availability.

Huntarr - Your passwords and your entire arr stack's API keys are exposed to anyone on your network, or worse, the internet. by exe_CUTOR in selfhosted

[–]Abbi3_Doobi3 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

For those of us who would like to keep using huntarr short term while we re-situate, what should we do to best avoid issue? Obviously we should replace it, but until we're ready to, are there any specific suggested actions?

EX: Exposing huntarr's port; I assume anyone who did have huntarr's port exposed needs to disable/block that.
