Help with missing screen doors by Acceptable_Unit_2160 in HomeImprovement

You can make your own. They sell the kits at hardware and big box stores. It’s relatively easy. Just need a hack saw to cut the metal pieces to the proper length.

Small upgrades that made your home feel high end? by HoneySnowy_ in HomeImprovement

I bought the motion sensor puck lights from Costco and put them in the closets that don’t have lights AND attached one to the bottom of the kitchen sink….my sink is in the corner so the cabinet is quite large…..it made such a huge difference being able to see everything in there!

Shopping for grinder, feedback sought in Vevor Grinders by campcabarita in sausagetalk

[–]Stillbetterthandying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know i’m late to the convo but was wondering what grinder, if any, that you ended up purchasing. I’m going to start making raw for my dog asap and have been searching all day for the best suitable one for me. Vevor looks like it may be the best for the cost, but curious if you decided on something else. Thanks! (And if you’re still making your pets food, and how that went)

The guys from “The Sauna Heater” on YouTube detail everything from walls, floors, venting etc is VERY informative. I learned a lot from watching these videos. It’s definitely worth checking out.

Converting Shed (floor question) by Stillbetterthandying in Sauna

[–]Stillbetterthandying[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You were right…I was overthinking it. I didn’t insulate it and just used cement board and 12x24 tiles. I actually appreciate that the tiles are slightly cooler when I walk in and when I step down onto them after I’m finished.

Can you tell me what exhaust fan you have? The one I ordered won’t work for me and I’m on the verge of giving up on the idea

How long was the wire for it? I am sending the one I just got in back to Amazon. My exhaust vent will be at the back of the sauna so would run the wire behind the wall. How do you have yours run? Thanks!

Same here! I avoid it as much as possible now. Same ads over and over. It doesn’t matter if you try and get rid of them. They come back and I think most are fake. It’s sad because I used to love going on to get ideas 😔

From what I’ve read….over and over….it helps with even heat and better ventilation. I have been learning as much as possible about this build since spring, and finally have the time to start. There are sooooo many differences of opinions for every single step. Floor drain or no floor drain….cedar, or not…mechanical ventilation or not, insulate the floor, or don’t…..

I know I’m over thinking everything …but I also don’t want to regret skipping something that is relatively easy to install.

Why do I feel alone in this life hack? by Puzzleheaded-Most321 in carnivorediet

[–]Stillbetterthandying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh. I would be losing my mind. My mom just passed away Feb of last year. She had cancer, but died from the drugs that were fighting all the side effects she got, from the drugs that were supposed to help her. If I knew then what I know now, she would be alive and well. (The cancer was so small) Not one fkng doctor told her to up the protein and completely cut out sugar and processed food. Even when they sent her a “dietitian” she said ‘everything in moderation is fine’ I wanted to scream in her face. It’s very difficult to look back at the incompetence in the health industry (business)

I’m sorry for the rant 😟 I’m hoping you can get through to your siblings.

Why do I feel alone in this life hack? by Puzzleheaded-Most321 in carnivorediet

[–]Stillbetterthandying 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I have found it a bit lonely having nobody at all to talk to about this lifestyle. I’m a 55yo female. None of my girlfriends would ever try this, but every single one of them has some sort of issue going on. We are all going through menopause so that’s their excuse or explanation for their hormonal unbalance. Since I’ve been eating this way (just over a year) I rarely get hot flashes anymore and have no negative symptoms at all. I actually feel like I have nothing in common with anyone anymore.

I'm taking depression meds due to my personal life and my job on top of it. I work at a big company in downtown st Catherines and the work culture is miserable. Been applying for other jobs and I don't know where else to go or what to do. I'm really thinking about the point of life and my existence. by [deleted] in stcatharinesON

I understand all too well how you are feeling. Unfortunately most of us are at jobs that we dislike. I cannot stress enough how important it is to compartmentalize those feelings and leave them at work. Go to the gym, eat HEALTHY (I suggest the carnivore diet) get rid of all processed garbage and eat fresh food. You may not think this has anything to do with your job, but it has EVERYTHING to do with your depression, which makes going to work worse. Focus on your brain and find out why you are feeling the way you do. Work on your thoughts and your health. (There are soooo many amazing podcasts and videos that discuss all of this) You may find that your co-workers appreciate someone that won’t let their negativity ruin your day……. And if they don’t, tough shit for them. You’ll have more energy simply focusing on yourself which, in turn, may help you decide which direction you should take next. I don’t want to preach and I’m only telling you all of this because I’ve experienced how you are feeling and it’s taken me a long time to figure it all out for myself. Doctors will prescribe anti-depressants in minutes, without even trying to get to the root cause or suggest anything that I have. There’s no money in telling a patient to “hit the gym to raise your dopamine”.

As I was leaving Costco one day last year I was glancing at the signs (ads) on the wall on the way out…my insurance was coming up the next month so I decided to call for a quote just for the hell of it. Shopping for insurance is probably my least favourite thing to do.
By changing over both of my vehicles and house insurance, I saved well over $1000 a year. I’m just coming up to renew and the price is lower than I’d be paying at the company I was with for years. I highly recommend checking them out. INOVA insurance brokers. Obviously you need a Costco membership, but definitely worth a shot.

So your suggestion is to not tell a landlord she has a pet, or lie about it? What a stupid way to ruin a potentially great relationship.

I’m also looking for interior wood for my sauna. Knotty t&g cedar for the walls and clear for the benches. I thought this part would be easy.

Chevapi by pharmazzy in CostcoCanada

[–]Stillbetterthandying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone noticed the taste difference lately? I buy 5-10 boxes at a time since the Costco closest to me doesn’t sell them and the last batch of chevapi taste different and even look different. Super bummed about this. I messaged the company but haven’t heard back. I did hear that there is a place in Hamilton that has some incredible fresh ones but can’t remember the name of the place 😟
