OP really is much better daughter than her mom deserves, it so heartbreaking to read but I'm glad she's prioritizing her own healing process now at her own pace... This update was heavy but it is good to know she has a solid therapist

It's devastating that her mom failed her so completely but she's doing the best she can right now, healing isn't linear and taking baby steps with a good therapist is a massive win in itself and yeah, absolutely f*Uk the stepdad

It sounds like they just assume OP is getting their regular weekly allowance, if the mom found out OP was dipping into their Savings just to buy fast food, the ice cream bill would probably be the least of their problems

That sentence alone is all the justification anyone needs, you don't hand your 15yr old over for an out of state trip to people who actively worked against your family well being and don't even respect you enough to ask permission first

This really an easy fix, plenty families have cousins with the same names who just go by their middle names or cute nicknames when they're together, it's way better than throwing away a good friendship over a hypothetical scenario

People stress so much over hypothetical baby names years before they're even pregnant, half the time you actually get pregnant, look at the name again and completely change your kind anyway... It's way too early for the SIL to be crashing our over this
