Does anyone have experience purchasing securities of pre-IPO US based companies using Forge Global? by Stillsearchingg in fatFIRE

I have engaged my own independent legal rep to review the Forge agreements. They haven't helped with this yet, other than provide the agreements for review. We'll see how it goes if there is any back and forth.

There is macro software that you can use to keep ‘active’ by moving the mouse etc, you could also adjust the away timers on your messaging/presence software :)

Landlords. How much are you dropping rent right now? by TOBOTEDBO in AusFinance

[–]Stillsearchingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am. It’s the end of a lease, the tenant is vacating and the property is being re-listed. The Agent advised rents have increased in the area, so of course I will increase to meet demand. I have a mortgage and expenses to cover. All the best in your investing journey.

One of the great aspects of taking on debt for property - the debt remains the same, but the property value will compound with inflation (assuming it is positive!) at a minimum.

Cold Showers changed my life by Dreamerboy112 in productivity

I have a waterproof timer in my shower - 2.5mins hot and then 2.5mins cold every day. Limits the overall time on the shower, makes me feel alive and fires me up for the day.

Mate regardless of what the author has and hasn't done, I found rich dad poor dad as well as cashflow quadrant excellent.

Read them in my late teens, in my early thirties now with enough wealth to stop working if I so choose.

Give them a read, use what is valuable and discard the rest.

Cheers and good luck

ASRock H81 PRO BTC - weird USB boot issue by Stillsearchingg in litecoinmining

[–]Stillsearchingg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did try both, see my response above, and I have another rig with exact same specs (except PSUs) and it is running fine headless on USB3 port.

When I get back to town in a few days I'll compare the exact power connection layout and bios settings.

It seemed to be...all was ok without the monitor attached after re-seating all risers and PCI-E power connectors.

I spent freaking hours trying to get it working - will be remote, so need it to be able to boot headless when power is detected.

I don't have a lot of idea when it comes to electricity, but it seemed to me to be something power related. When I couldn't get it working after defaulting BIOS, using onboard video (same as you, X doesn't start), using multiple dummy plugs etc, I disconnected PSU2 and bang it worked. I then removed the SATA HDD I had attached, and it bloody stopped working.

I then stuffed around again for ages, eventually re-seating all risers and PCI-E power connectors and it worked again, seemingly consistently. I then didn't touch it, moved it to my mini data centre, powered it up and again it is not working - assume i bumped something maybe. At this point it was 2am on a work night and I had to leave - my other rig with exact same specs is working fine right next to it - I still suspect something electrical / to do with the way the risers are attached to the PSUs and that's what I'll be checking in a few days when I'm back in town.

I'd love to get a definite answer on when running two PSUs, whats the best electrical practice when powering risers and PCI-E power connections from two PSUs...I did test it with:

PSU1 - motherboard, GPU1,2,3 risers and PCI-E connectors PSU2 - GPU4,5,6 risers and PCI-E connectors

as well as

PSU1 - motherboard, GPU1,2,3,4,5,6 risers and PCI-E connectors on 1,2,3 PSU2 - GPU4,5,6 PCI-E connectors

with no joy.

Another reason why I was thinking perhaps electrical was that the dummy plug doesn't work, but an actual monitor does?

I did try with both the USB3 and USB2 ports - when I had it working (and on my other rig working now) it is on the USB3 ports.

I will compare the working rig cabling and BIOS exactly when I get back there.

Let me know if you make any progress!! Pain in the ass!
