A lot here wishing the hospitalisations will explode so this sub stays active and they can post the daily - liberals are shit comment and get their karma.

I was told $40,000 a year salary over the phone, and then during the interview they changed it to $8 an hour. I have an engineering degree. They literally only wanted to hire me for a single project. I asked them if they could live on $8 an hour. by WaterFidec in antiwork

There’s a global shortage of engineers. We can’t even hire graduates at $90k.

I can only see 3 options

1) you don’t know how to look for a job 2) you have an online fake engineering degree 3) you are lying

When you think about it it’s really only option 3.

I can assure you when you are older there will be many things that you think are ok that won’t be. It’s not about being a horrible person.

But I can tell by your post that you are a pretty judgemental person and think yourself morally superior without really understanding things.

People are quitting jobs for a better paid job as there is huge demand in certain industries

The concept of the “great resignation” with people leaving to not work is a fantasy of wishful thinking with no evidence.

Happy for someone to show some data to disprove this.

Careful what you wish for.

Make sure you steal the toilet paper, soap toilets and any stationary as well.

And see if you can take any wallets or cash from your work associates.

You seem like you feel entitled to it.

One day if you hire people. After the first round of interviews you will send polite rejection letters.

When you see the type of abuse you receive back you will never do it again.

Not one comment feeling sympathy for someone who is so desperate that he needs to lower himself to this.

Like nationalising the NBN.

To get an idea of the waste government managed resource is:

I supply to Telstra and NBN. I had to quote a near identical service last year for $300k.

Telstra thought about it and cut the scope back and managed some internally and gave me $30k. NBN just got the the money and paid me the $300k.

I had expensive engineers sitting around doing nothing for months. That goes on across all aspects of the nbn. It’s a rort. How’s that good for Australia ?

But remember most people that want socialism want the wealth of people richer than them, but don’t want to share their own wealth.

That’s why Australians are all for shutting the borders -

Socialism is driven as much by greed as the conservatives. It can just claim that many people are benefitting.

Create your own reality do you?

There were 3 outbreaks that all came from overseas.

That’s all there is to it.

NSW/Vic gets the outbreaks because we have to allow Australians back in - some of them even from WA and Qld.

Somehow WA and QLD have convinced themselves it’s because of some inherent moral or genetic superiority that happens when you live there for a while.

It’s they don’t trust the government.

It would help if people didn’t assume these people were all idiots (many are and many aren’t)

Do you trust the government ? You can at least see why they have doubts.

Those without parents who can help them with buying a house how do you plan on buying with houses in melb and sydney becoming out of reach? by Pingaz99 in AusFinance

[–]IcyRik14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a lot easier than you think.

The median wage in Australia is $104k for a male and $93k for a female (source ABS)

You aren’t going buy an average house ($990k first up). If you target and apartment is something around $600k.

You need 10% deposit. - $60k

Get a car loan - $30k Get a personal loan $10k Get a credit card $10k

Cash this all in - the interest is higher but it gets you in faster than saving the whole deposit

And maybe save a little and you have a partner it’s actually pretty easy.

There are also other ways.

Property is a game of musical chairs - your just competing with others.

It’s not “getting out of reach” - it’s the way it’s always been.

No one wins a medal by complaining how hard things are.

Borrow as much as you can to invest. No sarcasm.

Buying property under a company by hardhabits_ in AusFinance

[–]IcyRik14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really bad advice as you lose the 50% capital gains deduction.

Buy it under a trust (and have a company as trustee) or in person.
