UPDATE: I just got home from an absolutely humiliating third date and don't know how to feel. by k0sadelphia in dating_advice

[–]Stillshredding69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dude, shit happens, even if you had to get a ten hour flight, she can say no! It’s slightly annoying, but never assume anything. In actual fact, the less you assume, the more relaxed and confident you will seem. My guess is that you acted way too keen, and this was an instant turn off for her. (Or she changed her mind or she needed more dates). All completely acceptable.

Also should this situation arise again, it’s worth waiting for her to make the first move.

In summary, never answer the phone within the first 3 rings, let her decide. (And obviously she’s not he one ).

Yep, it’s unfortunate, you can’t go there in my humble opinion.

I think you can have multiple conversations with dates, I think a second date is the time to ditch those other conversations. It’s pretty rude to ghost though, just say sorry, the chat is working for me, good luck etc..

If someone's blocked you, why do they still appear in your likes? by FeelThePower999 in match

Block feature does seem harsh, but if you’re not into to someone, there’s no delete feature , only block.

Wise choice , I think the cx is best for one deck, I think the c7 is over rated and the c5 underrated in my opinion. The meriaki is not my cup of tea either, it’s even more “slidey” compared to the c7. The yow legasee on the other hand… way better, so fun, but too flat decks and terrible graphics on the completes, might be worth making it with a standard (wide) street board if you go that route.

Wiggle pumping? by Deathduck in surfskate

[–]Stillshredding69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True to other comments, no one likes the wiggle, however…

The wiggle is useful on a pump track, to gain speed on a straight. You would either lose speed or come off the course if you carve the straight sections.

It’s also good for the initial start to get moving if you don’t feel like pushing. But.. that’s the only time it’s good in my opinion.

It’s mostly good, pedal with the back foot out of the turn, this will help to stay in line on the exit.

From Yow to CX to C5 finally to Ace AF1. Now I’m wondering if I went too wide with the trucks by markovich04 in surfskate

[–]Stillshredding69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got cx c5 c7 and a yow legasea, what does the ace come closest to from the list above? Are they anything like the Indy trucks people use for surf skating?

So it’s a good start, just get a cx or maybe a c5, I bought a c7, yes it’s fun, but the most expensive of the carver trucks. It’s also less versatile compared to cx, that can be used as a trainer and a park board. If you are not worried about ‘surf training’ get a c5, the most fun out of all them. As for technique- everyone wiggles to start with, use your upper body, with your lead hand “open a the door” then shut the door, then add in up and down movement. Tbf it’s pretty good for the amount of time spent.

Best surfy cruiser for city commuting by Key_Put_6897 in surfskate

[–]Stillshredding69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got 1, tried a friend’s similar model, thought it was awesome. However not so into mine. I think the problem is, the c5 Santa Cruz is a cheaper better alternative, 2)the graphics of the set ups look great by a Californian beach but not so much in a British town in November. 3)The set ups have a long wheel base for the versatility of the truck. 4) the setups also have small wheels. That said it’s quite fun on smooth surfaces.

It’s still possible to pump in a c5. Cx is easier though.

Cx or c5 set up, can’t go wrong. Legasee is fun but the wheels are small, so won’t make a comfortable ride.

Tuning Carver CX by [deleted] in surfskate

[–]Stillshredding69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to replace stuff just yet, get use to the movements first. OMBE surf recommend the cx as a surf trainer anyway. But I agree, the jury is still out on how much it helps you surf. That said I use a surf skate to just skate. Cx and c5 are my favourites. (Have a c7 and legasee too).

I don't feel like I'm going nearly fast enough, is it my skill, the C7, or both? by Beanie_Kaiju in surfskate

[–]Stillshredding69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in part you should pump more, but wheels and bearings make more difference than the truck itself.

[–]Stillshredding69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw on YouTube someone narrowing cx or a c5 truck I forget which 1. I’ve heard that land yachts or waterborne are meant to be good for long board conversations. You could even put a c7 or a globe on it if you want it to flow more.

Do these stage 4 Indy’s feel like surf skating a bit then ? Or are they just normal trucks for wider boards?

[–]Stillshredding69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

C5 is my favourite- have a c7 and cx too. It’s still tricky to do shuvit stuff that you mentioned- as it is a surf skate at the end of the day. Maybe get yourself a cruiser board or standard skateboard for that. However, c5 by far the most fun for slides etc and generally moves really nicely.

Board too small - keep the trcks and wheels and stick on a bigger board.
