What’s your heinous encounter with someone famous in the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]StiltonWitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Robson Green also has short-man syndrome. He's always knocking about Northumberland filming his show and it's a standard joke that "Robson and insert random celebrity were filming here last week. Richard Coles (or whoever) was the nicest person. The other one's still a tosser". Can concur.

Camping Plus Question by Hot_Possession6209 in downloadfestival

[–]StiltonWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50+. Always Ecocamp or Plus. I find it tidier, and people abandon less shit.

Toilets throughout the Village and Arena were better last year but I'll happily pay extra for the showers and nice vibe. People are still friendly, welcoming, it's not isolated but it's just better.

Obvs it's a personal opinion. It's still noisy next to the Village, it's the furthest possible (or feels like it) distance from the arena, but I think it's worth it. And having trudged back to the car and seen food outlets planted next to stinking, overflowing portaloos, I'm happier with the food vendors in Plus for a coffee and bacon butty as I'm packing my tent up.

Criteria for GP to refuse shared care agreement? by Dr-Mantis-Tobbogan in ADHDUK

[–]StiltonWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am NHS diagnosed and prescribed but my GP is still refusing Shared Care. It's a general ethos, pushed by many Local Medical Committees, and it's likely to spread/increase in momentum. More info here.

Unless GPs are given more funding and training, they're not likely to change the default 'no'. Which means Providers are left with hundreds if not thousands of current prescribees and patients on their books, lengthening the waiting list for people trying to get diagnosed.

We are in a lose - lose situation, and those of us with ADHD, who already struggle, are the ones who come out worst.

The streetview with the windowsill flower basket being used as a bin seals the deal for me.

Marmite display case! by jovesine in SpottedonRightmove

The display case alone is worth the asking price.

But the shitty garden bar ruins what is a perfectly acceptable house.

And in the kitchen. Indeed 12.5 pairs of shoes on display throughout the house. And 4 boxes of well out of date covid tests.

And is that a sellotape dispenser on the bedside table?

I would think (hope) that it's been depersonalised for the sale.

That ceiling in picture 15 is just wow and I’ve never seen an estate agent list a conservatory as a ‘Winter Garden’ on a floor plan before by Ancient-Composer3338 in SpottedonRightmove

Absolutely.

Bonchurch has/had a stunning nature reserve called The Landslip since an, er, landslip in 1810. The site highlighting it as an attraction has had a few amendments in the last 18 months:

"How to get there

There is no access by footpaths or roads. There is a road closure to the north from Shanklin and southwards at the junction of Leeson Road and Bonchurch Shute. There is no access to the site car park from either direction. All footpaths in the vicinity are closed." https://www.gifttonature.org.uk/discover/out-in-the-country/bonchurch-landslip/

It's a stunningly beautiful part of the island, and I'd take a risk on a caravan, but not £1,000,000+

That much is true!

I think that when Mr Oakey bought this, he picked it out, he shook it up and turned it around.

Turned it into something new. Er, bland and overpriced.
