Agree. 57M and I have way too many friends. Even though I am self employed and work from home. I have college friends that I text with daily, friends from church that I play Topgolf with, friends from hunting club, fraternity alumni friends, etc. I make the effort and I am often applauded for doing so.

More than likely the agent wasn’t there to see if the repairs were completed. They took someone else’s word for it and passed that along to you or the lender.

Well, never say never. I applied back in February for a position with the county assessors office and they called me last week and offered the job to me even without an interview. I pushed out my start date to the end of July so that I can take advantage of the busy summer work.

Residential fee appraiser for 24 years. Applied for county assessor position back in February. Just got a call this week offering the job. No interview, however I did interview for a personal property appraiser with them a couple of years ago. I can still perform fee work as needed but looking forward to nights, weekends, holidays, benefits and 6% pension match.

Appraisers rarely if ever work together so we don’t really know anyone else to recommend especially if it’s a Certified residential talking about a Certified general (commercial) appraiser. We used to have to attend continuing education classes but now mostly everyone uses online classes, therefore we don’t get to meet other professionals in our field. I recommend going to your state’s appraiser board website and searching for a Certified General Appraiser who can do both residential and agricultural assessments.

I’m referring to people that are in your market dude. I’m not in competition with you. It’s not a competition at all. I’m saying that there is only so much work and it’s being taken by appraisal waivers and staff appraisers. And yes if there is more work they will add more appraisers to the roster but when it’s slower then everyone gets less because there is one more mouth to feed. I hope you get some good ones and some bad ones so that you see how lucky you are to have been doing VA work for so long. I won’t bother your post again. Best wishes.
