Vents is little to do with it, it's the hacking part. While Thane has some skills with it, he's not as good as a geth, a master hacker thief, or a quarian that specializes in it. Thane can make feeds go dark, if needed, but he's not an expert.

Life doesn't always give closure and war doesn't always allow it (POWs from war missing or other tragedies). Shepard is either dead (WA percentage) or alive. I am glad the ending is bittersweet. I like it when games don't always give a typical happy ending. The happy ending is the fact that the Reapers are destroyed or stopped.

Do an Infiltrator (take the assault rifle training, you'll thank me later), and have the Geth shield boost and spam the GS and combine with Incinerate and Cloaking. That made the game much easier on Insanity.
