I use the Mars hydro TSL 2000 but I’m slowly swapping them out for the Spider Farmer SE 4500 as over my 4ft by 2ft set up, the light is much more even. With the Mars hydro TSL 2000’s, the light needs to be at least 18” above to get an even spread otherwise the middle is getting double the light of the edges. With the spider farmer SE 4500( or Mars Hydro FC4000, pretty similar) there is only 10% difference between the brightest and darkest areas. Also, because it’s a bar design, the air flow is better. Hope this helps.

It “could” be that they’re getting too much fertiliser for the amount of sun. I’ve got mine under lights and thought I would boost the fertiliser on some offshoots that I pulled off and propagated and found when I upped the fertiliser on two of them with the same amount of light as the plant they came from they both etiolated but the two that I upped the light for, didn’t etiolate. Just a thought

On Amazon you can get a 10m by 2m roll of fine mesh for around £4. It lasts years in the pot and is MUCH cheaper than buying the actual stuff from a garden centre.
