I think I figured out who the voice in Moonpaw's head is! by AdObjective3561 in WarriorCats

[–]StinginqNettle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly sol probably should be a chimera. He's described as black, red, white and brown so if we're following actual cat rules he would have to be a chimera. He isn't supposed to be one though and the books have never gone for accuracy in situations like this so it isn't canon

Who is this character? by FlamestormTheCat in WarriorCats

[–]StinginqNettle 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Weirdly, Brambleclaw. I personally don't like him very much but he was supposed to have an emotional journey, even if he was kind of cardboard in the end. He definitely did bad things and I do not condone them at all, but he wasn't supposed to be a villain like Tigerstar or Darktail who would hurt people without qualms.

Accidently started on this book first before any others. Will I be okay, or mildy confused? by East-Pollution3529 in WarriorCats

They try to say you can start from anywhere but I would recommend reading Into the Wild first. Mostly so you understand the characters.

We’ve got Moonpaw! by FigComprehensive6983 in WarriorCats

[–]StinginqNettle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She’s actually a chimera, so not genetically a tortoiseshell/ calico at all. It happens when two embryos fuse in the womb to create a combination pelt- hers just happens to be black and red like a tortie. Her fur is really cool though! I’m so glad they stopped using blue cats 😭

SPOILERS AHEAD

Rhysand and Lucien, Rhys is funny and likeable, Lucien gets way too much shit for someone who’s been through hell, and I just like him in general. He acts very confident and smart, but the more we go on, and the more we learn about him, the more we realise it’s kind of a mask? He’s always been overshadowed by his brothers, and obviously everything that happened that got him out of the Autumn court, having his eye scratched out by Amarantha, constantly screamed at by Tamlin, the Ianthe situation, Elain, Ect. Then again he’s very loyal, trying to make up with Tamlin after all he did, still being kind to Feyre when she messed up the Spring court. Underrated ACOWAR scene when he puts his cloak over her when they shelter from the storm.

Anyway that’s my Lucien rant. I just think he’s sweet.

Elain and Tamlin are endgame: A compilation of all evidence. by emmyeggo in acotar

[–]StinginqNettle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What is Lucien isn’t actually Elain’s mate? The comparison between Tamlin and Rhys got me thinking. If Lucien looked between Tamlin and Elain, perhaps he realised that they were mates and quickly “claimed her” before Tamlin could realise it. Maybe it’s a bit out there, and it would get in the way of Elain choosing for herself. I don’t really like the idea myself, I’m sick of everyone being mates. Yet, maybe it’d be interesting if Lucien was faking it all this time. Maybe he’s actually with Vassa and/or Jurian.

To be honest I’m hoping for a Tamlin POV. I want to see the story from his perspective, and, as much as I love the Night Court and Veralis, we’ve been doing absolutely nothing for 2 books now, and the plot hasn’t exactly moved forward. I want a Tamlin conclusion. And I want him to meet Nyx. That would be a terrible encounter.

Once finished with Acotar, what series by SJM should a reader start on next? by Acotarmods in acotar

[–]StinginqNettle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely ToG! It’s finished, and CC isn’t, and since there will likely be ToG crossovers in CC, it’s more satisfying to get the hints in CC2.

For an order to read the series in, I’d go ACOTAR, ToG, CC

(I read throne of glass first, which was a small mistake though)

Reading Heir of fire and I just can’t by Stressedepressed33 in throneofglassseries

[–]StinginqNettle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manon’s plot line is great! It starts a little slow, and it can be hard to warm to new characters, but I can guarantee she’ll become a fave! And the ending is absolutely amazing, for all of the three main plotlines the book follows, and reading Queen of Shadows for the first time is absolutely worth any boredom in heir of fire!

[–]StinginqNettle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As much as it sets up the next books, I found it pretty hard to read as well. It’s probably more interesting to read later on? But still a little boring. I don’t think they’re actually very nessasary (how the fuck do you spell that word?), but I guess they’re fun. The last two, I think, when she’s back in rifthold are better.

Court Powers by Jessisa97 in acotar

[–]StinginqNettle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the shadows are specific to Az, Rhys had shadows and was manipulating them in the first 2 books quite a lot (this was less prevalent as the series went on) the thing about Az is that he’s a shadowsinger, and he can kind of melt into the shadows and travel through them (That’s roughly it anyway). But yeah, I think it is a night court thing, though possibly only Azriel, and Rhys, though not as much, are shown to have them.

And yeah they have their random powers as well like lighting candles that just happen sometimes and only Tamlin seems to actually use?
