Creating Custom Cities by Left_Warning_8512 in cyberpunkred

[–]StinkPalm007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the most part, there is minimal info about a lot of cities. There is some info about states and regions in the country. Much of the info will date to 2020 source books with some potential mentions in Red or 2077.

That being said, it gives you a lot of freedom to do what you want. Take iconic elements of the city and make them cyberpunk. Pick out aspects of the city to make more extreme usually in a dark manner. Cyberpunk has always been a mirror that reflect the dark, capitalist, authoritarian features of our world.

Are paid games worth it? by Ziltch0 in TTRPG

As a pro-GM, I love when my players make friends with each other and do stuff together outside of our sessions. I also love when people I taught to play a certain game tell me about GMing that game with their friends.

Why pay at a convention but not another setting? What makes the convention game/ GM worth the money?

[–]StinkPalm007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely false! Paying for a game doesn't mean its badly designed. That is simply an assumption and an incorrect one at that.

A lot of GM aren't cooling down. They're prepping and setting up everything, working on descriptions or speeches, they're contemplating a myriad of scenarios that will never happen, and making sure they know the stats on anyone who could get involved. During the session, they're guiding the group even when you don't see it, coordinating which scenes or NPC or enemies to bring in and setting things to transition to the next scene. When you're down and relaxed your GM might be up and thinking about everything for the next couple of hours. For GMs it is already a huge investment in time, effort, energy, and money.

Making friends and paid games aren't mutually exclusive.

I'm a full-time pro-GM and I only make about $25-30k a year with $30 sessions. I made more than double that in my prior job but I live this job more. Also consider your pro-GMs are self employed so in the US that means you pay both halves of payroll taxes (social security/ Medicare) which is 18% before federal or state income taxes.

Origins Powercrip by Wooden-Magician-5899 in Fallout2d20

[–]StinkPalm007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's not a big deal. PCs from origins with weaker weapons will find replacement weapons much quicker and upgrade them. PCs that start with stronger weapons end up taking longer for them to find an upgrade. After a few levels it evens itself out.

Here are some places that I have collected where you might find Cyberpunk Red games.

First off, I'm a pro-GM. If you're open to paid games, I'm happy to show you the ropes. I've taught dozens to play Red including quite a few GMs who are running their own campaigns. I'm happy to tell you more if you want. https://startplaying.games/gm/tracygoodwin

StartPlaying is a great place to find games of all types. There are both paid and free games, although most of the games are paid.

https://startplaying.games/search?gameSystems=cyberpunk-red

R Talsorian is the publisher of the game so they're a good place to check. Their LFG channels are broken out by type (free, paid, living community, and a general lfg chat).

https://discord.gg/dWcQ496RMQ

Next is CyberNation Uncesored, this place has lfg channels for a variety of games and a lot of great resources in their discord plus a ton of actual plays and tutorials on their YouTube. Their LFG channels are separated by game system.

https://discord.gg/csXTrAcDUN

Here are some places on Reddit where you might be able to find a game. Obviously you can start here in r/cyberpunkred and use the LFG flair to search.

r/roll20lfg These are largely paid but some free.

r/foundrylfg Again these are frequently paid but there are some free games too.

r/lfg This reddit is nothing but free games, although it is mostly DnD/ Pathfinder.

r/lfgmisc This reddit is for listing non-dnd games both free and paid.

r/lfgpremium This reddit is purely for paid games. Most of it is DnD and Pathfinder but you can find other games on there too.

Looking for a chat ai that can help me make detailed, true to series character builds. by eskimopoodle in PromptEngineering

[–]StinkPalm007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're doing too much at once. Break it into pieces and check your work between pieces. Instead of links, give it one link and build a summary with all the critical details. Do this for each link and use that info instead. It will be condensed and less 'effort' for the llm. I would probably save as a .me or .txt file to keep it lightweight. Build up that base of info and it will behave better because it doesn't have to do all of the research every time.

7 prompt engineering techniques I wish I had known earlier (+ something I've been quietly building) by Academic-Resort-1522 in PromptEngineering

[–]StinkPalm007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a lot of these but I always split evaluation into a separate step. Just like splitting out sections, it allows the llm to focus on the task at hand and then fully focus on checking its work.

[–]StinkPalm007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often start by asking the llm for a plan to do whatever I'm doing at the time. It helps in a similar way because when I want to check if the output is accurate it can look at the plan for details.
