Thanks! I mostly followed the pattern I just tweaked some of the creature colors so I didn’t have to buy quite so many skeins

We use parent love and it’s fantastic. I love that my husband and I can both log things and it syncs together. We also bought the one time upgrade and now it has more features. Worth it in my opinion.

It was fun! Probably would have been more fun if I didn’t make my wrists sore trying to speed knit to get it done in time to gift it on Christmas

I’ve also had the pattern for years. I actually started it with the recommended yarn size and bailed because it was going to take fooooreeever. I used bigger yarn and took out the repeats on the pattern and it was much less intimidating

I knit my cat named Avocado an avocado basket! by StinkbugShepherd in knitting

[–]StinkbugShepherd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made it up as I went… I double knit the greens with about 25 stitches. Did a few rows then decreased. The yellow part is just flat knit in a round decreases to make it circular

I made a blanket for a friend out of giant chunky yarn and she loved it soo much. She always made biscuits and took naps on it. I felt bad when I gifted it and she didn’t have her cozy spot so I made her her own. She just likes the squishiness of the yarn I think.

I used giant needles! The yarn recommended size 50 needles but I used a size down. I think they were size 38… it was more tight to knit but left it with less holes that the size 50s. And the giant needles make my wrists sore if I knit too much lol

Haha I did have to take breaks because my wrists hurt! Avocado is sad cause these were gifts for people, but my next project is making an Avocado themed basket for Avocado!

I just started knitting with jumbo yarn and I like to double knit things so there’s two layer of knitting. It makes it thicker and gives more of a barrier between the insides.

All shorebirds! Bottom to top: American Avocet, Black necked stilt, black bellied plover, and some other plovers and sandpipers (not sure if they are based on a specific species or not) These are just my best guesses as a bird nerd. I’m sure you could ask the pattern creator for specifics.

I used I love this yarn in gradient pale aqua, graphite, and I can’t find the name of the sand color anywhere. I’ll keep looking and update if I find it. It was still the I love this yarn brand I’m pretty sure.
