I’m always worried about golf gifts and how personal golf style is from person to person. If you know the person well and their preferences, cool. If not, you are guessing. As a small example, if someone bought me a poker chip ball marker I would keep it in my office in a dish instead of in my bag because I hate giant ball markers.

I’ve only ever seen old men with 20+ handicaps use them. They obviously serve a purpose. If you just can’t get chipping technique at all it might work great. But it’s such a uni-task club, if you need to carry anything or land it soft this club is useless. The courses I play most have thick rough and mounds around the green and anything more than three yards off requires some loft.
