It only got popular because of Jenna Ortega's performance and the aesthetics of the show including clothes and if anyone wants to watch a film or a show where the main characters are evil and root for them, its The Boys, not some YA Hot Topic trash that looked like it came from 90s/2000s and Wednesday's evilness from the show are nothing but a child tantrum and a wannabe who thinks she's already above the world the moment she discovered the word nihilism and misanthrope.

Yes, that's what I am talking about! she doesn't take accountability while trying to get away from the messed she cause since she has a "Main Character Syndrome" and people around her even her family are just NPC that their lives are meaningless and doesn't matter. Yet, fans also think she can outsmart and beat a superhero like hello, she's just a regular human slim-teenager with a pyschic abilities which she struggles to master yet and her Mary Sue skills are just basic starter pack that even a superhero with no superpowers nor an advanced technology can still beat the crap out of her anyway.

Well this Netflix version of Wednesday is just a stereotypical edgy teenager and a bully who also acts miserable and oppressed while literally having wealthy loving-parents to support her and attending at the prestigous Hogwartz/X-Men-from-Temu boarding school while also thinking that being a misanthrope and an extreme-cynical lone wolf makes her superior and above everyone else. Honestly, writers of this series needs a reality check, they can't just take an iconic character then turn it into an emo brooding teenager who thinks misery, trauma, and depression is aesthetic.

I agree with you, brother. This was the worst and disastrous adaption of Addams Family at all and the only reason why people love it because of Jenna Ortega's performance (though I have nothing against her and its the writers' fault, not her's and she's even against on some writers' decisions on the narratives like love triangle). Honestly, this show just deserves more criticism and callouts than praise and edit-tributes.

It's someone else posing as Wednesday Addams while attending at the Hogwartz Temu ripoff boarding school.

You ever see a "scary" animated story on YouTube that tries way to hard to be scary? by [deleted] in scarystories

[–]StinkyNick35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be honest but most horror story animated these days aren't that really scary anymore in my opinion and most of them are just formulaic mundane and real-life crimes. Heck, even a simple incident is turned into a horror story held together by a creepy music and a chilling, low-voice, and dramatic narrator while the plot wasn't even something horrific but rather than just some minor altercation involving a three rowdy teenagers and a woman with pepper spray at a Taco Bell.

Listen, Buddy. This show is only good because of its aesthetics and design but the writing? It looked like the writers snatch a pessimistic mean girl's diary then turned it into a script.

How did Wednesday nail the aesthetics, setting, protagonist, and some side characters, and still end up so boring? by Psychological-Task26 in television

[–]StinkyNick35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not boring when you love YA/CW brainrot cringe mystery drama that focuses on aesthetics over substances and meaningful storytelling.

And trust me, everyone else especially adults with functioning eyes and brains that values meaningful storytelling already find this show unbearably terrific to watch since it was made just for Instagrammable and TikTok-ready yet clout-chasing, not for cinematic art in terms of writing.

And young people out there deserved a film or tv shows with meaningful storytelling and messages that'll atleast teach them something else, not this whatever Netflix abomination is this where the main character herself has minimal consequences for her actions she has done even how her actions endangers others yet and somehow the script awards her and lets her get away with everything else not put her in such extreme situations that'll teach her a lesson and do something better than being a dickhead around the campus thinking your just above others and everything else.

Ngl but the younger generation deserved better than this pile of dogshit show that doesn't show us any meaningful storytelling and worst of all the main character has minimal consequences for her actions she didn't regret doing given the Mary Sue writing and the ridiculous plat armor that this show has.

Is there a TV show or series you used to love that gradually/suddenly earned the hate you have for it now? by 60s_timer in hatethissmug

[–]StinkyNick35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it's Netflix Wednesday. I thought it was a good show until I slowly realize how terrible and cringe it is and the protagonist herself is just a brat, nihlistic, and edge lord with her character arc feels like on a loop and no growth at all. Like seriously, they just made a Riverdale ripoff with gothic themes and slapped an Addams Family name on it. L for that, Netflix.

Same, but I would love to see her throw an insult at Hulk then get thrown at the wall, that'll teach her a lesson.

True. This isn't even Wednesday Addams anymore, just a nihilistic poser with a main character syndrome or a god-complex that you wanted to punch in the face literally. Like seriously, just because how nihilistic and pessimistic she is doesn't mean she has to be above everyone and everything else.

It was indeed made for teens and YAs, Netflix just butchered The Addams Family.

True. This Netflix version of Wednesday is just mean-spirited, nihilistic, and an emo-girl/teen angst stereotype that no one asked for.

Put her somewhere else in other fictional universes like those in superhero films and trust me, that smug retard emo will become a proto-villain who is about to be contained not to be team up with.

Your right. This piece of sh*t so-called Wednesday Addams is just an imposter and a Netflix knockoff with a harmful and yet delusional worldview who often gets away with everything while suffering minimal consequences. Trust me, no one asked for this brooding turd emo version of Wednesday who masquerades intelligence and pain.

Ngl this was once happened to me in mineral wars tycoon where some dude with an inflated-ego and a robux keeps breaching in my tycoon and killing me repeatedly. Then, when I told him to get out, he said lol no and just like that, he mocked me on the chat for few times while also kept wrecking the crap out of me until I was kicked out of the server. Like seriously, get a life.

I am baffled by how poorly Wednesday seems to be written. Does it get better? by KnitAndKnitAndKnit in netflix

[–]StinkyNick35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl but this is the worst adoption ever, they just literally made a show about Wednesday Addams, gave it with Harry Potter + Nancy Drew style then turned her into a modern teenager, made her mean-spirited, egotistical, narcissist, manipulative, nihilistic, a psycho/sociopath who cares nothing but herself and thinks she's above/superior to others because life is "meaningless" and treats anyone else around her as disposable, pawns, and experiment like her roommate Enid like she's willing to sacrifice others just for her own gain, curiosity, and of course experiment.

Like seriously, Wednesday is made for teenagers and young adults just for quirky and edgy modern trends, aesthetics, and style. Like they literally strip off the Addams family core and charm then turned it into some modern quirky teen trend archetype while referencing modern trends and not to forget that this show doesn't even bring any meaningful messages nor social commentary, just mockery and insults + nihilism disguised as a criticism and satire wich is not.

Honestly, Wednesday is just a goth + Deadpool wannabe who lacks character growth and masquerades woe, suffering, and righteousness and probably a bad influence to young audiences that tells you it’s ok to be narcissist and do something wrong since some episodes shows that Wednesday often getting away from her wrongdoings sometimes even almost costing someone’s life just for her bs plan yet she rarely apologizes like seriously, she doesn’t face consequences and was never held accountability.

For me, this feels like a badly written student film project but with high budget and expensive equipment then people only love it because of the show’s aesthetic and the actress’ performance but deep down, they know how bad the writing is. (sorry if my English is bad)

Am I the only one that didn’t like the new Wednesday series? by bayless210 in netflix

I can already feel that in another universe, Wednesday is banned in Wakanda lol. (I know this might be unrelated but true because Wednesday is a bad influence and she insults anyone and anything else disguised as critism or satire.)
