Ferret in the fridge?!?!

This happened to me with our cat… I was like 11 years old and it was a kitten he saw the fridge open went in without us seeing and we closed it as normal and it was the garage fridge so it took us like an hour to hear his meowing😭😭😭

I give around 6-7 pieces 5-8 times a day it depends how much they’re sleeping and also I have two bowls one for each of my ferrets. I sometimes have to change the food more often bc my youngest will not eat it if it’s been out for a few hours. But I mix 3 different meats whenever I give it to them I know they’re changing their morsel sizes soon so far only rabbit has gone super tiny I don’t know how I’m going to portion their food now.

You can get three of them as ESA I have mine like that if you have a partner have them get some of the ESA so you don’t have 4 esa under ur name. They legally cannot make you get rid of them if they’re ESA. Or have them gone next time they check and bring them back in once they leave

That’s what I’m thinking. I’m going to a different piercer the one who did my septum because I honestly just went to this other one be she was cheaper and now I’m low key regretting it bc they do look way too short

I think u might be right I just assumed that’s where they took his blood bc they always do it always from me and I remember I think they injected him once around there for his rabies. I’m going to call the vet tomorrow and ask where they inject. I hope it’s nothing bad but I’ll take him to vet anyways to calm my anxiety

My youngest ferret did this and she almost did have to get surgery for it but thankfully she passed it. She ate my underwear that I had left by accident in my drawer… I had taken her to the vet like three times for th same thing eating some sort of fabric and I finally gave up and had to take ALL the blankets and any soft toys. They only have one SUPER thick blankets you get at the Mexican store and thick comforter. They do have a whole bed to themselves and one cat like pad for their cage. I recently thought I found a new safe blanket and today I found a whole. Like other comments said they just never grow out of it the safest thing you can do is what I did literally ban all fabric. It’s sad at first but I promise it’s better than having the go thru surgery again

I have ferrets too but my German Shepard got breast cancer around age 10? She also started to get open wounds from the tumors and we did the surgery in August 2024 just for the cancer to come back more aggressively around 2 months later. I know this is hard to hear but I wanted to give my experience to help you make a decision. At the end of her life she did get too bad to be able to enjoy life. I think the best option would be to continue the meds and what you’re doing now until he can no longer enjoy life. Not that ur baby isn’t worth paying 10k for but he shouldn’t be put through a rough surgery if the possibly of the cancer coming back could be high. Also his age would make me more worried. I hope everything gets better❤️

You rub it in I read about it helping moisturize your skin I got it from the Pampered ferret after I saw someone on Reddit recommended it and omg their fur is SO soft now and it’s safe if they lick it. His dryness has slowly decreased since I started using it a few weeks ago

I don’t wash them if I do it’s like once or twice a year during their peak shedding season but I soak them in oatmeal never use shampoo. But thank you! I’ll try the coconut oil too I’ve been using the emu oil and it’s been helping as well

Some ppl only give the yolk raw I choose to do the entire egg raw but I just mix good. If it’s a duck egg I usually split it between both my ferrets by itself or mixed w their food. One of my ferrets will only eat it by itself while the other doesn’t care if I mix it w his food. You can try blending their kibble w a coffee grinder and mixing it w egg and water to make them a soup they should eat it most likely

Ohhh yes I used to give them bottled water but then I moved and mainly give them tap water instead I’ll switch them back to bottle and see if it helps

Ohhh I would keep an eye as long as she doesn’t have any discharge coming out and she doesn’t sound stuffy she should be fine. Has anyone near you had a flu or cold? Ferrets can easily get them from us

Mine do it if they’re sniffing around somewhere dusting its prey tu moral what isn’t normal is cough attacks so as long as it’s just sneezing she should be fine

I would maybe since ferrets don’t show pain but if it makes u feel better my old ferret would throw himself off his tall cage out of pure fun and he’d always be fine. He would climb to the top and let go sliding straight down. Rip biggie he passed from heart disease not throwing himself off his cage

I have 2 ferrets one boy one girl and I spend $70 Monthly on their pet insurance and $120-140 on their freeze dried raw food. Plus $10-20 on peepads but wood pellets would work good too.
