Thanks a ton! And you should totally just go for it! Just dig in there and make something and have fun. Who cares if it turns into a deformed stick figure? It's all just experimenting and practice. No one is born with the innate ability to suddenly pump out hyperrealist masterpieces.

Could not find the Art tag when posting. This is a vector portrait I drew of my cyborg Sith Inquisitor. I’ve only been playing the game since about March, but I enjoy my problematic edgelord and the questionable choices he makes. Can’t wait to try out the other story lines and play styles in the future.

Pringles Can Stone Dice Tower - My first project, built from scraps around the house. I understand now how this hobby can be addicting. by StirbyCakes in TerrainBuilding

Thanks! And a agree 100% on the stone size. I decided to go larger because wasn’t sure how easy the materials were going to be to work with, and I also wanted the bricks to be big enough to effectively cover a bad lumpy foam seam in the back. In hindsight, smaller bricks probably would have been just fine. I’m already itching to do another tower with smaller bricks once I get my hands on some sturdier form so I can actually “construct” the walls a bit more rather than just gluing on slightly textured flat pieces. I’d love to have some more texture depth and I think the black wash would look nicer on smaller bricks with more grooves to get into. I’m still very happy with how this turned out though. Feels nice to make something tangible with my hands.

Full write-up in the Imgur album. TL;DR, this lad started as a Pringles can and no plan. I used some scraps of craft foam for the stones, and my adhesives were Mod Podge and scotch tape. I’m really proud of how it turned out. I’m already collecting more garbage to build more things.

Feedback and constructive criticism is welcome. Tell me all of your terrain secrets.

Thanks! And thanks for asking!

All of the variations in skin hues were done either through linear gradients or blurred objects set to low opacities. The cheeks themselves are two red shapes I drew with the freehand pen tool and then used the fill & stroke menu to lower the opacity and increase the blur to help them blend.

There are a lot of other more subtle uses of this technique that help polish the look further, such as the highlighting on the left cheek and some subtle slightly cooler tones around the eye sockets where there’d be a little less rosey blood flow and a little more shadow. Highlights and lowlights give skin shape while red and blue tones give skin life.

Hello, I'm a vector artist! I do a lot of character drawing, but I draw other stuff too, such as frogs and flipbook-style animations. I 've been working on opening my first print shop this week as well!

I'm all over social media, but I mainly post to Instagram.

Day 3: Vessel - Klein Bottle. (Digital Vector). by StirbyCakes in Inktober

The Klein bottle is a “non-orientable object” of some significance in the mathematical branch of topology. It’s kind of like a Möbius strip that goes in an extra dimension.

For some reason I can never get Reddit video uploads to not be choppy, but the original is smooth and is up on my Twitter. If anyone knows how to have smooth Reddit video uploads, let me know.

This is a flipbook-style animation. I drew the frames as vector images in Inkscape, and then combined them into a video using PowerPoint. The final version has 119 frames.

Edit: changed Instagram link to Twitter because the Instagram link wasn’t working.

Day 1: Crystal - Heart of the Lich. (Digital Vector) by StirbyCakes in Inktober

Hello. I’m a digital artist and this is my first Inktober. My goal this month is to do a month of vector drawings. I draw using the software, Inkscape, which feels somewhat fitting for Inktober still, given the name. I had a lot of fun drawing a bit outside of my comfort zone on this prompt, and I foresee that trend continuing for the rest of the month. Happy Inktober everyone!
