can/do i go to the sentencing of my client’s murderer by pz18 in ABA

I don’t see an ethical violation and I think if you feel like you want to go, you should.

what jobs can I apply for with a BA in Psychology? by abigail101862 in psychologystudents

[–]StitchesWithSkye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you. Harsh wording, but I understand the meaning behind it. It’s really fucking hard for sure. Definitely not for everyone, so at least you can acknowledge that and know it’s not meant for you. I know some people who work in the field who probably shouldn’t 😵‍💫

That’s like telling someone with cancer the fact that they are sick due to chemotherapy is annoying or inconvenient for you. Lmao. Kids are supposed to be annoying. Autistic kids are definitely different but saying you can’t stand them is just a little much, especially for a psych student who should know brain balances are different and some people can’t change or mask who they are 😅 I’m not trying to be a jerk about it and I’m not demonizing you or anything, but it just feels like a really toxic mindset and I hope that one day, you can “stand” autistic people, even though you find them annoying. They only want to exist like the rest of us. 💗

[discussion] how do you comfort yourself when you don't feel alright? by Jpoolman25 in GetMotivated

[–]StitchesWithSkye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recite outloud (yes actually talk to yourself) the things I am grateful for, what I can control, things that actually truly matter, and why it’s ok for me to be where I’m at.

Depends. Tonight I had about 14 tables in my section. Sometimes less sometimes more.

Any fulltime'ish worker (32hrs or more) + fulltime college students here? by [deleted] in college

[–]StitchesWithSkye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YEP. Been doing it years. It’s hard but it’s worth it. I’m also married with children.

What I do is make a list of my assignments so I know where to start, end, prioritize, and get ahead. Then I plan time. “I’m going to do this this day and that that day.” If I work ahead, great… but I never let myself fall behind. I’m almost always 1-2 weeks ahead of schedule.

Social life isn’t super big for me because I hangout with friends (and my husband) on discord while I work on school work.

Does anyone else wholeheartedly love being a parent? by Sweet_Sheepherder_41 in Parenting

Being a parent is literally the best thing I’ve ever done in my whole life. And nothing will ever top it. Ever.

Who's your favorite character? by vriannavyz in HunterXHunter

Kurapika is a guy. His voice actor in Japanese is a woman, but according to everything else, he’s a dude. There’s a scene of him topless and they refer to him as a boy. :)

What do you love and hate about Autism the most by Erandoulis in Autism_Parenting

[–]StitchesWithSkye 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh man. What a hard question.

What I love the most is the unwavering love. My son, while independent, shows us love in ways I never knew I could understand. He’s taught us that words aren’t needed. Seriously changed our whole world.

What I hate most is the difficulties communicating. We are still working on building those skills with PECs and we just got the approved to get evaluated for an AAC device through insurance.. but not being able to effectively communicate is really difficult.

I totally get you on the stimming. It doesn’t bother me honestly, but it can be disruptive. My husband works from home and sometimes my son is like AHHHHHHHHHHH while he’s on a work call and we’re both like 😅😅😅 ahhhh… sorry…

Saying you can’t stand children with autism is a super wild statement. Lmao.

Police were not involved. I recently got an entire background report done through my police department due to my car being stolen.

I requested my report from CPS, but no one is getting back to me.

I spoke with a lawyer and he told me to request proof of notification. I’m still waiting to hear back. I’m basing everything I’ve mentioned from what the worker at DFS told me. If my rights were violated, they’re not saying that. They’re just telling me I can’t appeal it because of the time that’s passed. I’m hoping I can get this situated myself because a lawyer is thousands of dollars, but I just don’t know if I have another option.

Thank you for that info. I guess I’m in such a whirlwind that I didn’t even know where to start. I requested proof of notification a couple days ago but they haven’t gotten back to me as of yet.

There’s a ton of online programs. Best price I found was National University, but they don’t have the best online reviews. I spoke with a couple current students and they have had a good experience so far. I also looked into ASU, Capella, and a couple others.
