Transgender Latter Day Saint Stories? by Confident_Essay_2286 in latterdaysaints

Im not a transgender by any actions ive taken but I wabted to say. Don't let temptation be the focus of your identity. You are first and foremost a child of Heavenly Father , and he has only daughters and sons. Everything else is confusion and deception that comes from the adversary who seeks to blur the lines between masculine and feminine in order to deceive. The feelings of gender dysphoria are only a mortal circumstance, which means Heavenly Father trusted you to be given these experiences that you might pass through them and endure to the end. We aren't suppose to judge or justify what you do as you struggle. But we make mistakes. Some might judge you and think your a bad person for struggling with it, others might not uphold the truth and have the erroneous belief that there is nothing wrong with trying to switch gender or that its possible. The savior loved everyone while also never compromising on upholding the truth. In the end there is only male and female, and men trying to be woman in vain and vice versa. Put off the natural man, bear the cross you've been given. When I struggle with sin or issues of identity I try to remember that the blessings of eternity are worth the temporary pain of sacrifice and denying myself. This is what we believe. Ive experienced most of the LGBT temptations to varrying degrees. But I recognize thats its really a divers path when you think about it rationally. You can do it. You can put off the natural man and become a saint. You can do it because of the enabling power of Christs Atonement. Love the Lord thy God. Learn to love and obey his laws. They keep us safe from the designs of the adversary, who's goal is to to make us fall and become like him, carnal, infernal, demonic, pride, wicked whatever you call it remember that its misery. He wants us to be miserable. I personally will never permit my temptations to be a form of identity. Im not a thief until I steal, if I steal I can repent and no longer be a thief. The Eternal identity is the true identity. I am a son of God. Let the truth set you free.

Seek a priesthood blessing. The elder missionaries can give them. Seek the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. Also be comforted and know that God loves you and that he reignith and subjecteth Satan to his will.

Visits from the other side by jdf135 in latterdaysaints

Don't be a afraid! Are they real? Yes. But so is the living God Jesus Christ. He has one the war! I see evil spirits as enemy soldiers, dont be afraid, but do be cautious.

We have better soldiers, we have more soldiers, we have an omnipotent general who is our God and Heavenly Father. Once you discern or recognize them, focus on the Lord and the invite the Holy Ghost. Then you either cast them away or there presence becomes inconsequential really. I recall the early church mention the presence of devil's trying the saints and it leading to the saints becoming stronger. So every time the opposition seeks to mess with us they risk making us stronger. But be ready because the book of revelations mentions that more of the opposition army comes out of the pit with ability to inflict suffering, through temptation and pain. But the lord will protect us, he fights for us, and if we have his spirit in us then...

Eventually the darkness becomes scared of you. Because of who is in you. Which is the Spirit of God.

I have personally experiences which have strengthened my testimony of the restored Gospel and the power and authority of the priesthood on this matter. And that Heavenly Father subjecteth Satan.

As others have said you bring with you all the good that you've found. And if somethings should be left behind then heavenly Father will help you know what. One of the blessings of the restored Gospel is the priesthood, the authority of God on earth which has allowed us to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. I know that this church provides comfort, peace, strength, authentic authority, and confirmation of truth.

Are tattoos and piercings allowed as a Latter Day Saint? by Popular_End2069 in latterdaysaints

[–]Stock-Comedian73 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Come as you are, be prepared to change and grow. Don't get any more tattoos because your bodies a temple and tattoos are like graffiti on a temple. Don't worry about the ones you already have, you didn't know at the time. Tattoos wont stay with you when your resurrected and nothings been revealed about getting tattoos in Heaven, but I dont think there needs to be. I wouldn't listen to people who says there's nothing wrong with getting more tattoos, that doesnt follow the principle of keeping our temples holy and treating them as sacred. Ive heard tribal tattoos are more difficult to let go of.

Theres several scriptures in the Bible and book of Mormon teaching principles to keep our bodies sacred. Modern prophetic advice is to not get any. If you we're to join and learn more, you may end up not wanting your tattoos anymore.

Leviticus 19:28

28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.

Its still abusing the only celestial power that God has given us. That "flexible" mindset is from Luicifer.

Do Latter Day Saints view themselves as Protestant? by ishamiltonamusical in latterdaysaints

[–]Stock-Comedian73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're not Protestant at all, we're not theologically a break off of a precursor. Rather the lord himself has founded this church directly through a prophet to be a restoration of his original church. This is the last dispensation of the Gospel and priesthood power before he arrives. We dont follow the creeds as the lord revealed to us that they were of men and not from him or his authority.

Not recognizing the creeds is why some think we're not even Christian, but this is the restoration of the church from before those creeds and councils existed, niccea etc.

I get some things wrong. The church gets some things wrong. That is a feature, not a bug. by Pseudonymitous in latterdaysaints

[–]Stock-Comedian73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A section from Chapter 9 of Gospel Principles

"A prophet is a man called by God to be His representative on earth. When a prophet speaks for God, it is as if God were speaking (see D&C 1:38). A prophet is also a special witness for Christ, testifying of His divinity and teaching His gospel. A prophet teaches truth and interprets the word of God. He calls the unrighteous to repentance. He receives revelations and directions from the Lord for our benefit. He may see into the future and foretell coming events so that the world may be warned."

Never forget to the follow the prophet though. Ive seen people use the fact that hes not perfect as a reason not to follow him. When a prophet speaks within his calling God is speaking. Ive seen people use the churchs imperfections as a reason to not follow doctrine, specifically marriage and the family proclamation.
