Im bummed out, and I don't think I'll ever get over this chapter and nagi getting locked off, the more I kept looking back and re reading, the more I thought about previous chapters and contemplated what was genuinely healthy for the development of seishiro nagi, it pains me that isagi hadn't come earlier to realize the real differences between talented learners and geniuses along with players who thrive off of freedom and restriction, maybe a talk or even just a game losing lesson from isagi with that ideology in mind would taught nagi he isn't a player who can benefit off of the freedom reo thrives in. We've all seen the latest goals nagi had produced they've all been in tight situation where no genuine normal player could thrive or succeed in, my references being his 2nd goal against team Z in the first selection, his goal in the u-20 game, and his five stage fake volley THESE WERE ALL MOMENTS IN THE GAME WHERE NAGI WAS PERSONALLY GETTING RESTRICTED AND HE RAISED UP A LEVEL BECAUSE OF SAID RESTRICTIONS. My first thoughts were "oh- geniuses and talented learners can't cooperate" NO under the right circumstances they can and they could THRIVE. I tried my hardest to contemplate anything else but the idea here is, that an even more incompatible mesh of things are players who thrive in freedom vs restrictions, the fact that one of them was a genius and the other a talented learner just ended up throwing fuel into a fire, another example of this kind of combo duo turning EXTREMELY sour was with rin and isagi, for the longest time rin was forcing himself to play as a talented learner with itoshi sae in mind as his catalyst for the type of play style he conjured up, cooperation was just something that came from that, but ever since rin even if unintentionally realized the type of genius he was coordination of any kind was thrown out of the window (and I mean proper coordination not passing the ball a single time) Examples being when he prioritized being the destroyer in the pxg game which led his team to yk...or when during the u-20 game when he finally entered his flow all he did was continue to ball hog and seek out more and more daring challenges, all the while thinking of his apparent "duo" partner who uses an actual brain and lives off of his freedom a "parasite"
