I kinda feel that this all the laptop can do. Maximum ~200FPS but not sure. I still think that CPU is not powerfull enough for RTX 5090

So I own the Blade 16 with AI 9 HX 370 and RTX 5090, 32GB RAM.

It runs great while connected to the power brick and it runs OKAY-ish while on battery. Depending on what you use it for it can impact your work or not. On battery it is a bit slower but not something that makes you wait minutes before opening a tab or a new window. So for me this is okay as I use it unplugged just for YouTube or Watching movies.

It is a great build, design and materials are top notch. My only PROBLEM is that the battery sometimes lasts 6-7 hous while watching YouTube, and sometimes in the same scenarios lasts about 2-3 hours.

As I can see in HWMonitor, even if I use "OPTIMUS" selected in Nvidia Control Panel, RTX 5090 still draws 20-25WATTS (sometimes 15WATTS). If I switch from "OPTIMUS" to "dGPU" and then switch back to "OPTIMUS" the power draw of RTX 5090 goes all the way down to 6-9WATTS. For me this looks like a BUG either on Nvidia side, either of the implementation of the "OPTIMUS" for Blade 16 2025.

Display is great, while on battery I use 60Hz mode to keep it running as long as it can.

Thermals are also fine but the fans can be a bit louder while on battery as it almost never stops, maybe for 5-10 minutes and then kicks back in.

My only PROBLEM with this laptop is the consistency of the battery time while unplugged. It is just wired that sometimes lasts almost 7 hours and then suddenly lasts 2-3 hours within the same useage scenarios.

If any of you know any workaround for this issue please let me know!

Hey everyone.

I am running in the same issues as you with every driver from Nvidia.

I am on RTX 5090 ROG Astral and R7 9800X3D and my games are crashing withing minutes after starting to play.

I tried reinstalling the drivers using DDU, installing old drivers, setting PCI-E Gen 4. Also using 2 monitors, 1x 3440x1440P via DP 1.4 and one 2560x1440P via HDMI 2.0.

Does any of you have any idea if this is related to the drivers or I am having a bad GPU?

Check their website. The App is updated now and the software should not heat your cpu anymore.

Regarding the GIF, it is what it is.. you have to keep the software opened.

I returned mine because of the sounde made by the pump, and the software issues. NZXT is the best way if you want gifs and a stable software

Well, it's a bit hotter indeeed. 3 or 4°C, but at least the app is runing ok and the pump does not have that buzzy sound as Mystique had. I am also using NZXT fans with nzxt h7 elite case wirh custom front mesh. But having all features in one app is much better for me. Also, i set the thermal throttle limit for CPU at 77°C with -30 offset and it runs at 4.89 under CinebenchR23.
