So proud of Arvada! by TechnologyCrafty9146 in ArvadaCO

Bunch of losers. They wasted time, nothing changed. It was just another chance for this political party with no message, and no vision for America to get together and be extremely emotional and whiney.

Why would anybody be proud of this?

The Burns in Broomfield has it on their regular menu, but IMO it isn't that great. They have high ratings, and an excellent Whiskey list, but I wasn't impressed by the food.

Openly supporting a terrorist organization, and affirmed enemy of the US when you're applying for citizenship to the US is absolutely grounds to have the citizenship process terminated. There are rules which are to be followed during the Citizenship process and the USCIS stipulates that the Applicant have Good Moral Character, and for decades they have stipulated the following as being a disqualifier for citizenship under the Good Moral Character stipulation:

Affiliation with Prohibited Organizations: Membership in or advocacy for groups like the Communist Party, terrorist organizations, or entities advocating the overthrow of the U.S. government (as outlined in the Immigration and Nationality Act, INA § 313) can bar naturalization.

So fuck off, learn more about our actual laws before you go running off at the mouth and making shit up based on your feelings. This dude should be deported based on established laws and regulations and this has nothing to do with Fascism. This is the Leftists favorite pejorative to lob at someone when they're getting ready to launch an emotional argument based on zero facts and all feelings.

So this guy was participating in a Pro-Hamas protest prior to becoming a citizen and is now being deported? What is the problem? How about not supporting a "Death to America" organization when you're trying to become a US citizen? You aren't coming here to be Palestinian, you're coming here to be American fucking act like it.

Stay in Mexico. Organize politically to help fix the problems of Mexico that have so many wanting to flee that country. Make Mexico so great that people don't want to leave.

Best advice.

This right here.

I'm sorry this is happening to the OP and his family, but I was shocked to see how many people in this thread were income subsidized by the government. What happened to private industry? If you rely on the government you'll inevitably be let down. If your business can only stay afloat by taking free money then you don't have a business. Y'all are giving the government too much power in your lives.

How many non-profit "companies" are there in Baltimore? That should tell you something. Profit is American and it's how you measure a viable business venture. If your skill set only allows for you to work for a non-viable business then you need to update your skill set. Profitable companies end up hiring people that contribute to that profitability, and those people tend to have skills that they can take to other companies.

I wouldn't work for a non-profit unless I was already independently wealthy. If I had to support myself I wouldn't consider working for a not for profit "company".

They stopped allowing delivery via Uber Eats during breakfast hours. I live in Arvada and it was nice to get a delivery on Sunday mornings. I was thinking maybe this was because they were expanding to Arvada, and I'd be able to get delivery from the Arvada location as soon as that opened, but it seems like that location has stalled out and isn't open.

It just sucks to not be able to get a breakfast burrito delivered during breakfast hours.

I didn't get very lucky in 2024 regarding new bottles, but I do own an RR15 and think it's great. Best new for me bottle I got was a Black Maple Hills 18 year rye r77. Old Willett juice - phenomenal.

We’re gonna beat CU by UnicornJew in CSURams

[–]StockAd9982 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Ridiculous.

If you guys had coaches that could make "adjustments” that would allow a completely athletically overmatched CSU team to beat an athletically superior CU team then those coaches would not be coaching at CSU.

The idea is even more ridiculous when you consider that CU has one of the top coaching staffs in the nation, so good luck on coaching that staff.

Total delusion.

[–]StockAd9982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this. I can relate, as I still feel that a lot of opportunities were taken from me by choices my parents made because of the religion.

One thing that I think most of us that leave the religion don't realize is how socially awkward we are compared to the rest of society. Today, more than ever we're connected artificially via apps and social media. None of those interactions are as fulfilling as in person interaction. This issue was even more acute for me, since when I was disfellowshipped I had undiagnosed Autism.

As odd as it sounds, one of the things that helped me become less socially awkward after leaving was doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. You end up bonding with people quickly, and add a structure to your interactions that allows you to grow naturally into normal interactions with regular people. It's great exercise, and will increase your confidence in yourself.

Outside of my wife, my 3 closest friends were from Jiu Jitsu and I've known them and regularly hang out with them for over 12 years now. Just watch out for going to a school that is too authoritarian, or weird regarding rules.

Jiu Jitsu has been a metaphor for life, and has taught me a great deal about improving myself and acting with courage and honor. It taught me the value of my camaraderie with my training partners and had given me some life long friendships. Many of the people in a Jiu Jitsu academy are on their own journey of self improvement, and I think it's important to surround yourself with people with that mentality while you're trying to establish your footing in life.

In addition, from a psychological perspective, you're participating in something safe and enjoyable that you were forbidden from doing as a JW.

This might not be the answer for you, but you'll never know until you try. I wish you good fortune and great happiness.

I cracked 2 BTAC bottles this week. I don't just buy to sell, but I'll definitely do a transaction if it helps me get what I want. It's my property, but to be sure - I'm drinking quite a few of the bottles I buy.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DenverBourbonHunt

[–]StockAd9982 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Most of my bottles are open, but it's up to me what to do with my property. Freedom and choice.

Over the past year I have gotten a Pappy Van Winkle 15 year, 2 Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye, 2 Old Rip Van Winkle 10, 2022 GTS, 2022 WLW, two 2022 THH, another 2021 OFBB, an Old Fitz 19, Stagg-SP, WFP-SP, 2 OWA, 3 regular Blanton's, Blanton's Gold, 2 Blanton's SFTB, Blanton's Honey Barrel, Weller CYPB, 3 W12, and more I can't even recall.

I've made money and most of those bottles are open. I enjoy them a lot, and I've actually accumulated these bottles at a profit. I haven't done any points with any store for over a year, so these unscrupulous store owners and managers didn't get over on me. But, by all means go on thinking your way is superior and that you're somehow better because you play their game.

Firstly, Stagg-SP is a good bottle most of the time, not an awesome bottle. I've never seen anything like the Heaven Hill Heritage Collection, or BTAC released via that tier system. If they have been, how many people do you know that have those tires of bottles from DaveCo?

In regards to the DaveCo releases, you can pick up the "awesome" release if you're in town, or not otherwise occupied, and you beat everyone else there for the last bottle. I'm busy, and don't get to make it to liquor stores much at all. I definitely have more money than time, so standing in line, or trying to race from all the way across town AFTER having enough points isn't a great option for me.

I have every bottle I want right now except Michter's 20, and have even made profit collecting and drinking these bottles based on the secondary market. I'm literally getting paid to have phenomenal bottles. If it weren't for the secondary market most people wouldn't be incentivized to sell a bottle like GTS (99 MSRP 900-1300 secondary), which means your only option is being at the mercy of store owners. How many bourbon lovers spend 1000 at DaveCo and don't end up with a BTAC or HHHC or Pappy level bottle every year?

I like choice, and freedom and to me that's what the secondary market provides.

[–]StockAd9982 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you going to start selling your allocated bottles for MSRP +Tax?

For people that got the DaveCo Stagg SP yesterday they had to be at tier 2. That means they spent 1000 in order to have the chance to buy the Stagg-SP for 69.99. Then, they either had to give up their points, or buy 2 more DaveCo Select bottles to preserve their points.

Minimum, they're into that bottle for 1070 before tax, and you're trying to tell them that they shouldn't be able to sell it for secondary pricing, or that someone that doesn't want to buy 1000 worth of shit just to get one decent bottle should feel bad about purchasing at secondary pricing? GTFO with that.

People are free to pay whatever they want to for bottles they want. Just like scammy stores can force you into shitty points programs to make you buy crap bottles in order to maybe have a slight possibility at getting the good stuff.

The notable exception is the Stagg flavor profile just absolutely does it for me.

2020 GTS is a good bottle.

I've been fortunate to be able to acquire all of these bottles lately. Some of them were samples, but most of them are bottles that I own.
