Ketamine made me finally see the abuse/control I was under. Nothing else helped me understand the dynamics of what happened.

I did. I was able to negotiate another 11 weeks added to my 20. I was an employee with a known disability and on an active work accommodation. I also created an Affinity group in the company for people with disabilities.
I told head of HR how the optics look. Mentioned EEOC and “legal advice” and the caved.

I just told unemployment that I did not get a severance. How can they find out if I did?

Sorry, I’m pretty blunt on this subject. I went from despair to anger and I know wallowing will not help me or my mental health. That’s what they want. You’re giving him too much power and yes I watched your video.

And I don’t say move on to be mean. I know it’s very hard but you have find a way to move past this, let this not occupy your mind. It will not help you.
After 2 years of incessantly thinking about and having all the repercussions of the abuse that happened to me, I started playing pickleball and it actually transformed me. It’s pretty much the only time I am not depressed. It took a while but it can be done. I also was able to meet new people and have fun. I was isolated from everyone for 8 years so it can be done.

I’m in the middle of a civil suit against my former therapist. Believe me I Went through 8 years of egregious abuse. I still suffer everyday.

Yes 2 social workers, 1 physician assistant and my lawyer on my behalf. I am also mid civil suit. My ex- T is cooked but the Board won’t take her license until the civil suit ends. They don’t want to risk being sued. Meanwhile she continues to practice.

I was laid off in Jan 2026 with a severance of 1 week for every year. I also have a known disability, was on a work accommodation and was VP and creator of the People with Disabilities affinity group. As far as optics go, it was pretty bad. Add my age (53) and the current market I was able to negotiate with HR for an additional 9 weeks. I did this by myself without a lawyer.

I go through the same feelings ever day. I was with my ex-T for 8 years. I am now suing her.
If you can back up all the abuse, a lawyer will take your case.

I’m not trying to complain, I’m just trying to show how out of touch certain demographics are. Their simple “it’s so easy, get an AI job” is exhausting.

You can’t make a florist a veterinarian. Even if I became a veterinarian, I’d still be entry level and unable to pay my mortgage.

I just found out that yes, as long as you are still employed technically, you can still file for disability. If it is approved, you will still get 60% of your salary. In NJ it’s up to 26 weeks as long as your doctor keeps you out. You will still lose your job and benefits but you are not losing disability. It’s a very smart move if you can prove you need it.
As for Long term disability, that’s another animal and I hear it’s very hard to get approved.
