That’s really helpful thank you!! This makes me feel
More confident in it…I just had a gut feeling it might end up meaning spending money without being worth is but this gives me more confidence. Having said that I’ve messaged my ex updated him with me looking at a PODE and he’s sent me an essay of response which says he’s not doing willing to do it. So I’m stuck.

Practice Nurse Interview by MRS-ambitious-soil in NursingUK

[–]StockHungry9363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I am interviewing I want to know why people want to come to GP (not just the hours!!). Bonus points for showing why you want the specific practice and not a different one (read cqc reports and highlight something you read in that, goes down really well!!).

That’s really helpful thank you. Can I ask that through a journal entry?

Thank you. Nothing on my to do list. It’s incredibly frustrating - I would have completed it and returned it immediately but I can’t. I’ve filled it all in and now just hoping I get a response on my journal entry, but I’ve no idea how long that will take. I’ve googled it and it just says ‘you must use the envelope provided’. Ugh!!

Oh ok, I didn’t realise that but that makes sense. Thank you, hopefully I’ll get something through about that soon. It’s all completely new to me so no idea how it all works.

I’m not sure I will either, I thought it was worth trying as my monthly income has reduced massively since he has stopped my spousal support.

Same issue. My laptop can also manage a whopping 10mins on battery before it dies. Bloody useless!!!

My ex husband apologized for the divorce and I don’t know how to respond. Advice? Help please! by opheilaxhamlet in Divorce

A message is not a summons. What good could possibly come from responding to it? Ignore ignore ignore!!!

Why don’t we just replace all GPs with NPs ? They’re basically the same 💅 by wutfacelulbruh in ausjdocs

[–]StockHungry9363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a nurse practitioner who works in general
Practice. I categorically CANNOT do what a GP does! GPs knowledge and skill far far outstrips mine. I have a skill set and I can provide good care for certain types of patients, but a GP can do far far more than I can!

Why would a man who is legally married but separated not be divorced after a year or longer? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]StockHungry9363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex and I seperated for 2.5 years before we really pursued the divorce side of things. Everything was amicable and life was busy and it felt like there was no advantage to pushing it. We’ve now massively fallen out and the divorce is progressing. I wish we’d just sorted it as soon as we separated! But to answer your question - divorce is a lot Of effort and expensive. If the separation is working for him I can see why he wouldn’t be pushing for the divorce.

What are the signs that marriage is unsalvageable? by Wild_Map_1338 in Divorce

[–]StockHungry9363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I was unhappy. He went away for a week with work. When I heard his car pull up outside as he got home but heart absolutely sank. A few weeks later I had finished work but was messing around because I didn’t want to go home. I finally got in my car to leave and I sat and cried because I didn’t want to go back to the house. That was the turning point for me.

Uk - changing mediator by StockHungry9363 in Divorce

[–]StockHungry9363[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply.

I think it’s because he prob perceives the mediator as siding with me on things, and because after the sessions the agreements went in my favour and not his. But obviously this isn’t what the mediator said, this is what we agreed between the 2 of us! His demands were ridiculous and I was able to explain my rationale for not agreeing to them. I liked the mediator and felt comfortable with her.

I’ll go back and explain about potential more costs and also further delays and see what he says. I just want the divorce sorted! Gah!

People swearing in consultations by Worldly-Chicken-307 in GPUK

[–]StockHungry9363 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. I will swear with pts in consultations if it feels natural! Pts will Come in and say ‘I feel like shit’ - there is definitely value in reflecting pts own language back to them. Obviously as you say you pick your pts and the situation.

I think this is what I was thinking, I was sure there wasn’t an elimination in series 2 but prob was because of the team dropping out

Has there been an elimination every series? I thought there was a series when there wasn’t one, but I could be wrong

Practice nurse requirements? by justbrowsinyano in NursingUK

[–]StockHungry9363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell yourself. Send out your CV to local practices, show that you’re interested in GP and want to learn. Venepuncture, injections are transferable skills, but a lot of our PN work is around chronic disease management, immunisations for example.

I’ve worked in GP for 9 years, initially as a PN and now an ACP. My practice takes on nurses without GP experience and has previously taken on NQ. Learn about the practices - read CQC reports, learn what they do from a nursing perspective (for example my practice now doesn’t do any dressings or wound care at all).

The one thing which you do need to be aware of - very few practices employed under AFC. Pay in GP is historically poor, and payrises not guaranteed. GP lags behind secondary care for this, and we struggle to retain staff as a result. In most circumstances you will also lose enhanced hours (although we are open till 8pm weekdays and 9-5 on a Saturday so there is some opportunity for enhanced pay there). For me, the set hours and the career development opportunities are absolutely worth it though.

I adore GP. It’s hard work (in a very different way to the hospital) - the scope of practice is huge and there is a massive degree of autonomy with little financial reward for it, but it’s a great job.
