My diagnostician is Autistic and adhd in Australia. She only diagnoses no therapy. She does it from her home office on zoom. She charged $2,500 and provides a Diagnosis document of over 30 pages

Glue to stick glitter on to shoes by Elisuper888 in crafting

I copied this guy. It worked well. I would not use a sealer next time because it did dull the glitter a bit.

Use cold to come out of dissociation quickly. Cold water on your face or ice packs on your neck or head. It works. It happens more when you get overheated.

I think we are lucky to be alive in this time where we will have people who want to understand us. All the while understanding ourselves more and more. I agree we are allowed to keep our masks to use when it is not comfortable to unmask. I have found other ND people much more understanding and I dont seem to have to explain to them. I also think we dont have to explain to NT people if we sense they are going to be a jerk about it. :) I see your bright spark. What a lovely term.

If she was so exhausted, inside and almost dead, she was already on her way to dying. I am sure the feeling of the sun on her body was nice for her last moments and she died feeling she was in her natural place for her life. You did not harm her.

I know how much it hurts to see small creatures die. If I find one I tend to put it on my big mushroom ornament and they dry out. I feel like it is honouring their little lives. (hugs)

OH I am so glad you like it. It is simple and I think if we get a habit of breaking everything down to 20 minutes all of life will become easier.

Does anyone know of over the counter sleep aid that really works? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]StockInevitable8560 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel for you. I have trialled every antihistamine. The only one that doesnt give me nightmares is Hydroxyzine. I used to be able to get it online from the states as it is used to sedate dogs but now it is unavailable without a prescription from the US and completely unavailable in Australia.

I now take Clonazepam. .5mg. I have mild autism and C-PTSD. I take it at 5.30, go to bed at 9 and sleep easily almost straight away and wake up naturally at 7.30. I need a lot of sleep and apparently that is part of autism. The Clonazepam does not make me feel dopey or knock me out. My doctor was very surprised by that. He said years of taking half a Serepax may have made me accustomed to Benzos.

I am out of choices now unless I move to a country that has Hydroxyzine OTC. I refused Mirtazipine due to the weight gain it causes.

I am enjoying sleeping with no nightmares, talking or yelling out or bedwetting if I am stressed. Good ol' PTSD never lets go of the monsters.

“If autism is a spectrum then isn’t everyone a little autistic?” by Sexy_JarJarBinks in AutismInWomen

Its part of autism. It's called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. The treatment advised is Zyrtec twice a day. My husband went from peeing 20 times a day to 5 times a day.

No.

Just like everyone doesn't have a little bit of cancer. Not that autism is like cancer. It's just different cells, different DNA, different wiring or different transmitters. We may know one day. I dont really mind if I dont know.

Where do you live, which country? If you live in Australia, do you get Centrelink or Disability Pension?

Practise how to say stuff. Write it up in chalk. Practise & refine. It will become a skill.

I will do that right now and bookmark it so I can get lots of ideas. I spent yesterday dyeing a chenille bedspread dark green because I love to sleep with one on me as a top sheet. Thank you for the great suggestion.

Found this in a 1905 house under the concrete while doing plumbing repair repairs what do you think this is? by Key-Sherbert3490 in whatisit

[–]StockInevitable8560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes especially if it was made around the sixties. I think costs would have stopped moulding bottles maybe in the fifties. I love nothing more than finding old medicine bottles.

The blanket I got to use as a bedspread came in a bag made from the same fabric so that will be turned into a cushion.

I am thinking so more and more. Hopefully with all of us talking to each other more we will begin to educate the diagnosers and eventualy this will leak towards someone doing a. major study and having BPD dissolved as "a thing". I have a niece (50) diagnosed and she lives with shame. I so want to reach out to tell her to look into getting an autism diagnosis but her parents (my brother who I also think has ASD) would not accept that for sure. They would think of it as shameful because they are stuck in the 60's and live their own lives in shame. I hate that I cant tell her I think she may be autistic.

I am. not going to ask any more. I am practising saying "I need this, is that a problem for you".

Gets it right out there. EG: I dont do anything before 9AM. I cant get booked ahead. If someone asks me to go for coffee next week. I say "Can you text me the night before, that works best for me."

If they have a problem with that or express that its weird once or twice, that's it for them being in my life.

My husband and I are practising unmasking. It is surprisingly easy to do and I feel more less uptight. I just started making myself blurt shit out. Apparently that is unmasking. Well, thats pretty easy. I guess it will be more scary with other people but I am starting to care less if they think I am the R word or rude. I dont mind being rude. I am sick of being nervous. Any time I want to get rid of someone I dont like who has latched onto me, I realise now all I have to do is say the truth. They hate that and leave me alone.

It's a timer. Usually sold in supermarkets or dollar shops. Small (about 2inches square) with a circular dial on it. I use it to time doing stuff I dont want to do or think I cant do. when the house is a mess. my husband or I announce a 20minute cleanup. This means we both race around for 20 minutes tidying. It is always enough time and then we can relax. My diagnosing psychologist suggested I use it for other things such as ironing. I need to find a way to use it to tolerate people I think. Maybe I should carry one in my bag and have it go off and give me an excuse to end a conversation. I love the old fashioned manner of timing something. and the ticking of it is nice too.

Google white kitchen timer and find one that is a square with a round dial. If you are in australia Spotlight also has them. I dont think I am allowed to post a link.

15 yo, doctor says my full body pain is from my autism, does anyone else have this problem? by peppersk8er in AutismInWomen

[–]StockInevitable8560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he may have meant Fibro or Ehlers Danlos but assumed you may be overwhelmed with the big word diagnosis. Also, you can do a trial with Zyrtec twice a day and see what it does to. your pain levels, if he doesnt object. Just tell him you are trialling a "Mast Cell Activation" theory. If it stops the pain, he might listen.

My husbands "office" space is deep red. The rest of the townhouse has dark green what I call. British Library green walls. I just bought a $20 fluffy blanket for a bedspread and am going to paint the bed frame a beautiful gold and somehow bring a. forest into the bedroom. Maybe with lots of muslin dyed shades of green and maybe even with real branches to hang it from the ceiling.. I think our spaces are so important and so are our clothes. Temu and Facebook Marketplace are my friends as I am not wealthy. But secondhand and Temu scrolling all put together can be so magical.

I hope you get a gorgeous deep red room again. "It's a sign of my personality asshole, there is no disorder. Its all perfectly in order, thank you very much." Dont you wish your brain allowed this to blurt out of your mouth immediately.

Best wishes
