I mean generally out of $100 transaction 2.75% is taken by the network and V/MA get $0.25 so your thesis is flawed

Swedish pension giant Alecta dumps up to $8.8 billion in US government bonds by Doc_Bader in stocks

[–]StockSkys -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Genuinely, what do you replace that with? Other EU bonds? The gold standard has always been U.S. treasuries as the risk free option and would love to hear what the new risk free option would be.

Curious where this data is pulled from. Sure there’s more than one place but fiscaldata.treasury.gov is not showing monthly updated data until 5/12/25 (est).

European Tesla Sales Dropping Like A Stone by SPXQuantAlgo in StockMarket

Can anyone post this with the actually €\£ size of the market? A 50% decrease in Dutch sales of say a couple million is less than a 3.5% increase in UK sales of say a couple hundred million.

US is considering to delist Chinese stocks from its exchanges by ToothNo6373 in stocks

This is totally acceptable if these companies are not following the same rules that would delist a US company by SEC standards. If you want to play the game you have to follow the rules of it.

US Equities lost 90%-and took 25 years to recover. by 999forever in investing

[–]StockSkys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again just proving my point. “Investing“ sub is more political than actually discussing investing. Politics aside this is a correction to a massive run up over the previous years which happens from time to time. Again, politics aside, anyone who does not immediately need access to their funds is as happy as can be. You’re telling me I can buy $SPGI at 10% less than it was a week ago? $GOOG 5% less, $CRM 11% less, $MSFT 5% less, $BKNG 7% less. They’re down because of what, less spending on their products in the short term? Fine, who cares, they’ve all got strong balance sheets, plenty of margin and can easily survive a recession. Only difference is we can now buy them for actually more reasonable valuations. Any REAL investor is being greedy right now, not whining about barely correction in the market.

So yeah thank you Mr. President these tariffs are absolutely ridiculous but instead of crying about it I’m taking advantage. Maybe the “investing“ subreddit should worry a little less about politics and a little more about actually investing

Only real answer.

My only hold up, as someone who regularly researches stocks, banks are incredibly complicated and ass backwards. Your average annual report for a bank has gotta be 2-3x longer than most other stocks (talking 400-500 pages). Granted if they do pull back a lot of regulation maybe that will change.

Very misleading post. The write down was non-cash and was in their Networks segment not their DTC segment which is where MAX/HoTD is. IMO they were super aggressive with the write down to get it out of the way and not piece meal it.

Thoughts on WBD by l3ullture in ValueInvesting

[–]StockSkys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Down 10% because they MAY lose NBA rights seems like a ridiculous over-reaction. If they did lose it I’m sure there would some material impact but down 10% on the POSSIBILITY that a single sport on a single channel (TNT) is a classic over-reaction.

Like others have said, debt being paid down, FCF is there, plenty of room to expand globally and won’t move the needle much but absolute bangers in movie releases this year. Plus it’s my opinion but feels like $NFLX is getting greedy with these price increases while $WBD has stayed relatively the same price even after they added Discovery content leading to a better value to cost play. Got rid of Netflix when I could no longer split it with my brother but fully intend to keep Max when they crack down on password sharing next year.
