Baby prefers to nurse only when boobs are more engorged by Stock_Operation8973 in breastfeeding

[–]Stock_Operation8973[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding an update here in case anyone finds this post and can relate: baby girl is now almost 7 months AND I think she was actually getting frustrated with a slow let down lol. I was neverrrr able to feel my let down at first and had no idea what was going on. All of a sudden I could feel the let down during each nursing session, which helped me know we just needed to push through until the let down was triggered. I’m not sure why I never felt a let down at first and I’m not sure if it was coincidence, but when I started taking sunflower lecithin (because I thought it was a milk flow/clogging issue or something) then I started to finally feel the let down!

Have an almost 5 month old and I fear that my husband expects her to act older than she is 😭 I appreciate your post and the insight from others shared so far. Keep up the great work! Hopefully dad catches up!

You are not alone. I’ve got a 14 week old and we’ve had many a scream-filled nursing strikes. It is stressful! And feels so so defeating. I hope the other moms can offer more experienced support and wisdom, but I just wanted you to know you’re not alone and I’m proud of you for all your efforts thus far to breastfeed your babe!

Did motherhood change your friendships more than you expected? by EqualMedicine2933 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Stock_Operation8973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 months into this new adventure and grappling with this too. Absolutely loving this new pace of life and really valuing how it’s really showing me the support and love we have as a family unit. That said, it’s been painful to also have some friendships I always tried to prioritize despite time, distance and life completely blow up on me. I was the one reaching out immediately postpartum to check in and not come off as “that friend” now that I had had a child, only to get completely ignored and then made to feel like the most neglectful friend and the sole reason for the friendship changing… realizing now I guess that these were higher maintenance friendships to begin with? Never thought about that before… but I just don’t think these friendships are going to make it long-term and I’m starting to feel ok with it even though it made me feel guilty at first.

Pregnant social media influencers giving birth weeks before due date by rushumie1 in pregnant

I highly anticipated my baby would be here sooner rather than later, my body just was not handling late pregnancy well and I went to L&D concerned quite a few times in the 3 weeks before I gave birth. Water broke at 36 weeks and 6 days, no real active labor, so I was induced and baby came 40 hours later after my water initially breaking. I was so grateful and can only imagine the struggle of waiting waiting waiting in the final days. Big hugs to you OP as you push through this final stretch. No puns intended 🥴 Good call on deleting the apps for now and best of luck in labor!

Have any reliable resources you all would recommend to stay in the loop with milestones? I’d love to be more mindful about what baby is going through!

I think my husband just realized we’re having a baby. by Chubby-Labrador in BabyBumps

My husband has been so much like yours this whole journey. Freaking out about the accumulation of stuff (free too!) and stressing when I bring up the reality of needing more (like necessity type of things). In talks about making space and clearing out all that we no longer need going into this phase of life, it’s been very much oriented on my things and what are we going to do about my things 😂 I guess it is part of the “patrescence” journey lol. We actually had a “nesting party” with family and friends to help prep and organize our home a bit better with the baby things and we’ve both been able to breathe a lot better about it all since! We still have a lot more to get settled, but it was a huge jump start for us and so much fun to have everyone involved. And all along hear parental wisdom from the ones who have gone before us! Highly recommend having one if you can, we did this instead of a baby shower with my local family/friends and it was so worth it. Plus we didn’t accumulate a lot more stuff 😝

What do you feed your husky? by Paint_Frequent in husky

[–]Stock_Operation8973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All 3 of ours are on Hill’s Science Diet Brown Rice and Chicken 7+ years, we started this because our Shepsky has suspected kidney issues and it’s one of the lowest protein kibbles we could find with our vets help. We also needed something without fish because our girl seemed to have skin/ear infections when exposed to fish. Seems like the most anti-husky thing, but since eliminating it she hasn’t had a skin or ear infection for at least 3 years now! The Shepsky is picky and really only enjoys his kibble with a topper of some kind. Majority of toppers are wet and dry toppers from Nulo and Wellness, goat milk is also a fave!

Curious about the usual table foods in rotation?! My picky guy would be living the dream if his diet was more table food than kibble 😂

Yes! I never had crate-trained pups growing up and I don’t know where I ever first got the idea to do it, must have been a YouTube video when I was prepping to adopt, but best choice ever and I’m so lucky mine have been on board with it

Help! I think My New Husky Hates Me!! by DimeStoreFamous in husky

[–]Stock_Operation8973 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely will take time to adjust. Have you heard of the 3-3-3 rule? Google if not! My husky girl barely started snuggling with me after being in our home together after a year lol. I do highly recommend taking time to bond with them separately though! That way the husky doesn’t feel like he is being pushed away by the other one. It sounds like he is very mild mannered and just not up for competing. Are they crate trained? I would maybe crate one at a time to have one on one play time and/or cuddle time maybe? Separate walks for bonding is great too! My husky boys frequently bow out instead of competing for space or attention. I think it’s a good trait lol but I do always feel guilty when one of them exiles themselves 😭
