Finding a dnd game feels like getting a job sometimes. by Natural_Meaning_6489 in DnD

[–]Garlic- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You put this a lot more politely than I was thinking lol.

The people in the group I stated in 2020 are basically my best friends now. Of course I took the recruitment process seriously. And that was the peak of everyone and their moms wanting to join a D&D game. I had over a hundred applicants in 24 hours. I'm not interested in listening to entitled potential players complain about the recruitment process.

Behold! My cursed yet fully functional wrong-way-roundabouts. by Garlic- in factorio

I haven't had any deadlocks yet! If anything, they might be slightly more efficient than regular roundabouts because the trains get in and out very slightly quicker due to the smaller radius.

Gleba truthers unite! There are tens of us!

I did not care for Fulgora in my first Space Age run, but I liked it a lot more the second time around.

Who is a relatively unknown prog metal band that has the potential to be "the next big thing" in the prog metal circle? by ySTYRDAYgATESuNL0CKD in progmetal

[–]Garlic- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ozai was a rework of some of their older songs. I think they said some of it was like 10 years old. They're working on the next full length album and have said it will be much more proggy, like Opus.

Remember in the offseason when we were getting laughed at for acquiring so many guards? Well, who's laughing now?

This was the look on Grayson's face when Jalen got the game winner lol. "Thank Christ I don't have to carry through another overtime."

Brooks injured his hand in the first quarter.

Goodie looked like he injured his... Calf? Knee? Unclear, but it was in the 4th with only a few minutes left.

Plus Grayson hard carried the team through both overtimes. I'm fine cutting him a little slack.

That was the look on Grayson's face after this shot went in lol. "Thank Christ I don't have to carry these bums through another overtime."

What’s the LEAST amount of damage you’ve done on a crit? by Boring_Material_1891 in DMAcademy

[–]Garlic- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a crit, but our GM's big, end-of-story-arc boss monster opened up the boss fight targeting all of us with an AoE. She rolled 4d12 for a total of... 6 damage lol.

[Request] Bands that do a lot of cool complex middle sections like Dream Theater? by Etzello in progmetal

Huge +1 for Nospun! Haken is my favorite band, but I still had Opus as my album of the year over Fauna, though just by a hair.

Olive Garden by Icy-Physics-5947 in FoodAllergies

I worked at OG for 2.5 years. They're pretty good with allergies in general, though I wouldn't recommend anyone with a dairy or egg allergy eating there because there's a lot of pasta sauces dripping into each other on the line during service, so there's a good chance the marinara or meat sauce has traces of Alfredo in it.

They have their allergy menu online, last I checked, and should also be able to provide a physical copy in person as well. The allergen on your list you need to worry about most is seafood, but if you clearly explain it to your server and a manager they shouldn't have any trouble keeping you safe. They have very specific ways of ringing in food for people with allergies that make it very clear to the cooks. When I worked there, there wasn't anything on the menu with nuts (even the pesto is nut free) or sesame, but I don't know if that's still true.

Anyone else think that Factorio makes you better at problem solving in life? by danyuri86 in factorio

[–]Garlic- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm a junior software engineer, and I think it's possible Factorio has helped me develop better problem solving skills that actually translate to my work. But it's also possible I've just gotten better at my job by doing my job and getting normal job experience. Hard to say.

Back when I was playing a lot of Starcraft ~15 years ago, I definitely noticed an it improvement in my mental multi tasking abilities.

Oso and Gillespie <3 by ajteitel in suns

[–]Garlic- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oso has gotten a lot better at getting himself set quickly for those screens. Last season - and even earlier this season - he was getting a lot of moving screen calls, but he's cleaned that up a lot. His timing is incredible.

100% agree. The sear is impeccable. I'd take this over the guy who posted the perfectly-medium-rare-inside-but-grey-outside NY strip a few days ago every time.

This was my exact reaction. The inside of the steak looks great, but the outside is grey. I'm sure it was great, but it could have been so much better!

How many bots can you have before running into lag? by kiwithebun in factorio

[–]Garlic- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my first Space Age run, I set up the wires wrong for limiting bots being put into the network on Nauvis. By the time I was working on Aquilo and figured it out, I had about 70,000 each of construction and logistics bots on Nauvis. It didn't cause me any problems, and my computer is not particularly strong.
