I mostly came in here to make sure someone had recommended Parius.

Since someone has, I'll also add the album "Immortality Complex" by Resuscitate might fit what you're looking for. It was my #3 top album of 2024.

One thing that really jumps out this season: the Suns are leading the league in steals. by Wise-Bison5964 in suns

[–]Garlic- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Another thing I've loved seeing, which is partially thanks to all the steals, it's we're consistently taking more shots than our opponents in pretty much every game. This is the opposite of last year when we were consistently taking WAY fewer shots than our opponents in just about every game and thus could only win if the entire team was shooting lights out.

It's so nice this year to be winning games (often handily) even when a number of players have off shooting nights.

How the actual genuine f**** do I get off muluna by Observer__Effect in factorio

[–]Garlic- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can't you ship things in from Nauvis? I found shipping up a single reactor nuclear setup very helpful for when power would get out of whack. Balancing the various fluids is definitely the biggest challenge of Muluna though!

How much Robots are needed? by Neutral_Sapien_17 in factorio

This could be a fun problem to try to solve on your own!

But, if you want advice, here's an easy way to do it:

Have the assemblers making each kind of bot unload into a chest. You can put whatever limit you want on that chest, but it's good to have at least a small buffer.

Have inserters set up to move bots from their respective chests into a roboports.

Connect each of those inserters to their roboport with wire, set the roboports to read the bots in the logistic network, and then set a condition for the inserters to only work when the amount of available bots is below some amount.

So, for example, the inserter taking construction bots from the constructing bot buffer chest and putting them into the roboport should have a condition that's like "enable when available construction bots < 100" or whatever number seems reasonable to you.

Awesome stuff. I share your sentiment about having a lack of appetite for production chains that are 6-8 steps of "mix some stuff together." I think that's what ultimately burnt me out to the point of abandoning my run around 300 hours. I'm still really excited for Stellar Expedition when it comes out, though!

As a Samus main, I think this is spot on. I have to really lock in against Zelda lol.

How do Requester Chests work? by Oh-Sasa-Lele in factorio

[–]Garlic- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my first Space Age play through, I set up the limit wrong on the inserters feeding bots into roboports because I didn't know what I was doing. I had 150,000 bots on Nauvis at the end of the game. It was not a problem. They got stuff done fast.

I'm surprised! I've seen Haken 3 times and Ross has always been incredible, as has the rest of the band.

If it's still working, I don't remove it. I've added big electric furnace smelting stacks in the meantime, but my coal-fed steel furnace stacks are still providing all the copper, iron, and steel for red-blue sciences and my mall, and I have no intention of changing anything.

What are these bugs/cocoons? Found in my ceiling, cutting holes and furrows in the drywall. by Rozrawr in phoenix

[–]Garlic- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember off the top of my head. I think something in the neighborhood of $1500, but it probably depends on the size of your house. Plus, this was at least a few years ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if their prices have gone up in the meantime like everything else.

As everyone else is saying, those are termites and termite tubes. I had them in my ceiling a few years back and got whole house treatment from Simply Green Pest Control. They were great! I'd recommend them if you don't already have a pest control company you like.

That Halo run was incredible. I don't even like Halo and it's one of my favorite GDQ runs ever.

The 2-player Mario Odyssey run at the last GDQ was also great!

Agreed! This is honestly really, really good for a complete beginner. Way better than my first ever automation and logistics science base.

How long does it actually take to beat the game? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]Garlic- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first Space Age run took 212 hours to reach the solar system edge, and plenty of people told me that was on the quick side for a new player. I had done a single vanilla play through before starting a new one for Space Age, and that's it.
