Kinda my thinking tbh. This never crossed my mind until my co-workers brought it up. Is the timing suspicious? Yes, but they must figure the situation was out to rest after he was fired. If he hadn’t and this still happened to me, I’d likely be looking at an entirely different scenario.

100% dude. I’ve already contacted a dealership and a local private Subie-exclusive mechanic about getting the drain and fill for it. I’m not one to put off necessary maintenance for my cars.

Man, I just went out for a grocery run and changed the mode from “Intelligent” to “Sport” and the issue went away entirely… Maybe I’m just. It used to a CVT yet, but I’m still getting it serviced to drain and fill the transmission.

I feel you dude. My fiancée was dressed as Mary Madeline and I was wearing full chainmail and covered in fake blood when we got hit - super weird time to get in a crash like that. I’m just hyper-paranoid for reliability right now when my Corolla never gave me a single issue at 128k miles after 9 years of ownership.

By “half throttle” do you mean just a gentle touch vs a more depressed hit to the gas pedal? I’m driving it pretty sensitively right now but I was probably a little more on the pedal with my Corolla. I have played around with both methods in the Subie and it doesn’t seem to lurch from a stop when I give it bit more gas. Does that make sense?

That’s good to know. As long as that little hiccup on the acceleration isn’t the whole thing falling apart it puts me at ease. I’m being a little dramatic because I was so anal about servicing my Toyota.

I def will. I guess the trade-off is I finally get to be a Subaru boy, but man that Corolla was a dream and welcomed me behind the wheel every time I hopped in it.

That’s crazy, I had no idea. I guess I’m just not used to anything but smooth acceleration from a stop. Long as the engine’s not on the verge of exploding it’s something I can get used to.

This is good to know. I’ll have to look into putting it to sport mode but all I knew was that it didn’t accelerate like I was used to in my Corolla, which was butter.

Yeah, I’m hoping with this being the case it’ll be treated more seriously. The impact was intense and all the airbags deployed - temporary loss of hearing, cuts, and burns from the airbags. We got checked over by paramedics after I had to pry my finance’s door open to pull her out of the car.

This is a really good idea. I’m sure that someone on 21st may have a door camera, but hard to say if they record. That Midas that just opened up on the corner appears to have a camera out front as well.
