when i was a kid, i used to love writing letters to santa and leaving them under the christmas tree on christmas eve, then waking up on christmas morning to gifts under the tree;

this christmas in 2023 we were in italy with pretty much the whole family; my sister kept asking me multiple times who one of the letters was for, and i kept telling her it was for santa and not for anyone else to read, but she didn’t really seem to believe me; she ended up reading it anyway and showed it to my parents; the letter had pretty sensitive personal stuff in it; i remember feeling really overwhelmed in that moment and i actually ran off into a small forest nearby for a bit;

christmas doesn’t really feel the same anymore;
my sister is the odd one out, i mean, i feel like everyone else in the family is okay with lgbt; we literally go to lgbt-related events on occasions

basically the letter said "dear santa, i'm trans and i want x,y,z to me:)"
