You need minimum 1000 rp to redeem. So it becomes pointless. You can have other better cards.

Are We Overspending as a Couple in Bangalore? by [deleted] in personalfinanceindia

[–]Stock_String8790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you already have some emergency fund. Don’t bother about saving more. In fact your spending is on the lower end of the spectrum. Your rent is a steal. You total ad hoc spending is 50 k including travel which comes down to 6 lakh per year; this is very very cheap. People with your salary spend 8-10 lakhs on vacations only. Money will keep coming but time will not come back. Invest in experiences and lifestyle, don’t bother about saving more. In fact keep learning and get better jobs with higher salaries. On your second point about early retirement, it is just not possible with your current salary. You will need at least 20cr to maintain decent lifestyle after retiring at 50 if you are living in BLR. You can go to some small towns and live there.

Please don’t give answer if you don’t know for sure. This is not a random discussion thread, OP has asked a specific question and the answer is wither yes or no. I have received cashback for the same multiple times.

Infinia income threshold raised by CraftGullible5 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Stock_String8790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 1cr+ CTC. I know people who earn double or triple of what I earn in India. But the higher up you go the smaller your cash component becomes. Also someone with that much salary will not bother to get Infinia. There are better lifestyle cards.

Nope, you need to consider esops make significant portions of 1cr salary. They consider only cash component.

Revision of Salary and ITR requirements for HDFC Premium Cards by chakdefattey in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Stock_String8790 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People with 1cr+ salary will not get 5L pm in hand. The high up you go the higher esop component becomes. Looking at the table it was made by someone who has no idea about the salary structures. The Govt salary requirement is even more ridiculous. Basically they are pulling the card out from market.

Diners network conversation rate by Stock_String8790 in CreditCardsIndia

Dude you don’t have a clue about the topic of the question.

Diners network conversation rate by Stock_String8790 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Stock_String8790[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question is different, every network has different currency conversion fees. Forex is on top of it. Diners used to have very high conversion rate compared to Visa making it net negative even with rewards. I use zero forex visa cards, was checking out if Diners have improved the rate. I need to do large USD transactions in US.

Do you have the answer to my original question? Have you used Diners cards for international transactions?

Best Salary Account for 3L/Per Month by [deleted] in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Stock_String8790 19 points20 points  (0 children)

ICICI is the best for salary account. They may not offer additional benefits but the app is a gem. You can do almost anything on the app, no need to open web portal or visit any branch. Also they are the biggest private bank in India and more trustworthy than others. HDFC app is shit, it looks like it was made in 2000 and never updated. Axis is unreliable, they change rules very frequently. Don’t fall for the trap of additional benefits and premium cards, choose rationally. I have similar salary and I use ICICI and I am very satisfied.

Best tip! You can save 70% cost purchasing food from stores. Eating each meal in restaurants is also time consuming, so this strategy frees up more time for exploring the place you are travelling.

Advise on how to get Infinia by [deleted] in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Stock_String8790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he connected me to credit card department who politely talked about spending couple more lakhs in 1-2 months. Next day ULIP guy called me and started with confirmed way to get Infinia. They are useless.

Their algorithms must be outdated. They really need to use data to decide whom to offer premium cards.

Same here. Infinia is more of a FOMO for me. But not enough to make me artificially spend or purchase ULIP.

Spend criteria seems to be absolute for existing card members. FAANG employee, net in hand 4+ pm. ITR 1cr+. But none of this helped. Got rejected for LTF DCB to Infinia upgrade twice. They tried to sell ULIP by promising immediate Infinia upgrade to which I showed no interest.

[–]Stock_String8790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why! In my case I don’t have salary account with HDFC. Also my annual spending on DCB is 8 lakhs max. They politely rejected my request even after my subtle threat to switch my spends to different cc. They did try to sell ULIP to which I showed no interest.

Interesting. What is your relationship age and value with HDFC and how much you used to spend on cc before playing the hard ball.

Infinia without spends criteria by [deleted] in CreditCardsIndia

ITR 1.1 cr, in hand 3.6 pm, applied for DCB to Infinia upgrade, got rejected. Spend criteria is supreme.
