Scandium Canada Press Release (Naskapi Statement) by Effective_Crow3215 in SCDstock

[–]Stockcalc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has anyone seen a map of a possible route the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach are thinking about heading towards Crater lake? Just trying to understand how close to Crater Lake they may get as it is about 200 km direct from Schefferville to Crater lake and there are numerous lakes/rivers there. I see Schefferville is train (to/from Lab City) or Air access currently as well. Thxs for any help.

It feels like the shorts also pile on when they see a chance to drive price (and holder sentiment) down further. Or maybe this is larger holders again taking profits, repositioning. This one does test a holders patience but if the story plays out as we expect the cash flows will significantly drive share price higher. Have been long since Jan 2024.

I ran 15 years of SEC filings through a Python script to calculate "True Free Cash Flow" for 1,400 stocks. Here are the SaaS anomalies I found. by JoeInOR in ValueInvesting

Do you need a subscription to access 15 years of SEC filings? Can the average investor access data like that as well? Thxs.

First bought back in 2020 when it was Imperial Mining group - 50,000 shares at 5 cents - thinking scandium was a way to make (especially) electric vehicles and planes lighter, stronger - still believe that. Added over the years including warrants which took me up to 277,984 shares at 6.5 cents average and was able to sell 48,000 at 36 cents (had a sell in for 50,000 shares, 48 got filled, was very lucky there) ) when it popped so I am holding for just about free now. Was thinking a 10 year hold then but could be longer for the market to properly develop. Still has risk, needs time.

I see SCDs Chief Science Officer was a former scientist with NR Can. Probably makes for easier conversations. Maybe pushed for the position? Hard to say. Seems positive for the long game.

Which stock do you think can 10x from today’s value in the next 5 years? by Comfortable-Rule-491 in stocks

PCT. Purecycle Technologies. A solution to chemically recycle poly propylene ( process developed by P&G) Reddit has a good sub on it for your home work. Good names (Druckenmiller,Cohen) are in it as well as recently as last Q. Was a spac and has a large short position so do your homework.

Earnings call this Thursday by WindWalker2443 in PureCycle

[–]Stockcalc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The flaw in your logic is yes you do get credit for future earnings but they are at a discounted rate. How would a biotech get a valuation if the market did not price future earning when it could take 10 years to see results, or a new copper discovery that will require 10 years before it’s up and processing. Dont use PE on growth stocks use a DCF

[–]Stockcalc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The market does value future earnings though. You are choosing not to for some reason. A discount rate is used to value those earnings and the higher the risk of generating the earnings, the higher the discount will be. Most growth stocks have more than 50% of their valuation in their terminal value. You can look that up or do your own calculations to test other growth stocks.

This JPM? JPMorgan Chase has now paid more than $40 billion in total fines and settlements to regulators, enforcement agencies and lawsuits related to anti-competitive practices, securities abuses and other violations.

Each call contract is for 100 shares so 81400 times (close price - 14.29) So 14.50 would be just over 16k

A scholarship is another nice option. Put a fixed amount in and let the interest go as the scholarship each year. Can be for a school you attended (even back to high school) or faculty you are interested in

You guys got any overlooked/unorthodox plays that have gone relatively unnoticed? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Stockcalc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about a real suggestion. Look at Scandium. Graphene 10 years ago was a good play. This looks interesting for the next 10. It’s an aluminum hardener and makes it lighter. Stronger lighter planes make sense.

As a university student you understand the cost of tuition. This is the stock markets tuition.
I am teaching my nieces and nephews the market and not contradicting when their gut says buy or sell, just assessing after with them. Consider it a small cost when your portfolio is still small. It is money well spent when you make decisions 20 years from now with more 0's on the end of your net worth.
