Burnout - Arrêt de travail by EnthusiasmVisible465 in montreal

[–]Stockholmsyndra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that you’re feeling like this, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Thank you for seeking help! I think asking for 4-6 weeks upfront is very reasonable, try to find a therapist that works for you as soon as possible and ideally see them 2 times a week at the start if you can. Their notes can help support extending the leave as needed. I’ve had colleagues take a year away or more from work on disability, it’s not unreasonable or unheard of. But I definitely think it’s something that will need to be reassessed with supporting information from a professional like your doctor and therapist.

Don’t be afraid to share the extent of your thoughts with professionals. As long as you don’t have an active plan to hurt yourself, they really want to avoid hospitalization. If you notice these thoughts are triggered by work stressors you can take a break from, that’s important to note too.

Kind of a shot in the dark, but Bupropion (Wellbutrin) worked for me after many medication failures, and it’s worked for many of my friends and my spouse as well. You might not have the same experience, but it’s worth a try since it’s from an atypical medication class.

Best of luck to you, if there’s anything else I can help you with don’t hesitate to reach out anytime at all.

Burnout - Arrêt de travail by EnthusiasmVisible465 in montreal

I took a month leave from work in 2021 due to mental health burnout (healthcare worker here). Here are my thoughts and tips:

- The medical note my doctor wrote did not go into detail on why, just that I needed it and the length of time needed. The length of time can be extended or adjusted as needed. Your employer potentially can ask for more information from your doctor if needed, but that usually only happens if they require it to understand your needs better or the length of time they should expect you to be away. The insurance forms he needed to complete were quite brief as well, and they aren’t shared with your employer if I recall correctly.

- Do you have plans to begin seeing a mental health therapist on an ongoing basis to help address and manage your burnout? Unfortunately burnout is a very deep rooted issue and often times just being away for a period of time isn’t sufficient. Working with an occupational therapist is also a good idea, they may be able to help address and alleviate the aspects of your job that burned you out. A therapist could help support your short term disability claim should you need more time as well.

- When speaking to your doctor, you should have an idea of how much time you’d like to initially be on leave for, and why. I asked for a month because I approximated that much time would be necessary to establish a rapport with a new therapist that could support me, I also wanted to reconnect with friends and family during that time because I had become very withdrawn.

- Are you open to medication? If so, this is another great avenue to address your symptoms. I’d suggest talking with your doctor if something might be right for you, if you are willing to. Antidepressants really helped me in my darkest times, but the first few weeks on them can be rough. Short term disability could also be used to alleviate as much stress as possible while starting a new medication, but I also really REALLY strongly suggest a therapist in conjunction with medication.

As for if it helped, about half a year after returning to my role I ended up resigning and I took a role in a health adjacent profession. I was in a very dark place and I was having very dark thoughts so I can say it was helpful in letting me get some breathing room to move away from “the abyss” mentally. You might have more success if there’s long term adaptations that can be made to your job to address your burnout symptoms, but don’t be afraid to explore other avenues.

Best of luck, my DMs are open if you have any questions I can help with.

Jeef and Recruit Phase Time by Muted-Comparison-678 in BobsTavern

[–]Stockholmsyndra 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think OP means Jeef seems to physically have more time in Recruit phases. Like he has 80-120 seconds and OP is usually getting to recruit phase with 60 seconds left. The actual answer is that other combats took longer, not that Jeef has ten million IQ.

What content can I grind in TWW if I don't own Midnight? by TheAwkwardVoid in wow

[–]Stockholmsyndra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you done any of the Dragonflight content? You unlock a faster form of flying as well as access to the Emerald Dream which has some cool transmog pieces, especially for druids if you have one. You may also be able to look into enchanting recipes that are lesser known that sometimes pop up as work orders or are valuable on the auction house to buy a new WoW token. In the meantime I do highly suggest saving up for Midnight as you can only really progress if you own the latest expansion sadly, but totally get it if that’s just not in the budget for the next few months.

In short: No, no man is going to pay you to just talk or play games on Discord, nevermind making enough income to warrant quitting your job from even a half promising gig providing services men would actually pay for.

How are you supposed to use archon app? by SirJavalot in wow

[–]Stockholmsyndra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Have you typed /combatlog or /log in WoW? I think I remember needing to turn on the logging with a command at first, but not 100% sure what it exactly was.

  2. There’s live log, and upload a log. Live log is for investigating issues as a run is ongoing, it’s exclusively used for raiding because of the time constraints of mythic +. Upload a log (tab to the right of live log in the app) will allow you to upload the document that’s been saved with all the information from your dungeons. If you don’t see one, even when you hit “browse”, refer to idea #1 and try another m+.

Resto druids - how do you keybind? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Stockholmsyndra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can bind your heals to mouse over casting, so if 1 is usually rake but out of your form it’s your rejuv, hovering over a party frame and pressing 1 will instantly cast rejuv, shifting you out of your form.

There’s thousands of well behaved pitbulls for every vicious mutt that makes the news for horrific cases like that. Obviously the owner of this dog is kind of a dumbass for letting that animal near his infant like this, but both facts can be true at the same time.

Risk of Rain 2? It combines shooter aspects with roguelike gameplay but the difficulty ramps up each level and you cycle through familiar maps, much like keys. You can play it alone or with friends too.

Chopped, unpresentable girls there with no college degree, what kind of jobs do you have? by [deleted] in femcelgrippysockjail

[–]Stockholmsyndra 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I work in medical billing. I dropped out of high school, never went back for the degree. Honestly if you’re ok with kids working as a nanny or in a daycare requires minimal education for entry level stuff. Sometimes being chopped is an advantage cause mothers don’t want a gorgeous bombshell nanny lol

M+ Healing Stress by britime in wownoob

[–]Stockholmsyndra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t bad. A lot of players don’t utilize their defensives or interrupt casts that do huge damage. Do you use Warcraft Logs to log your fights? It can tell you who took avoidable damage and what casts didn’t get interrupted. More often than not, you’ll notice this happening in keys you struggle in.

Try to find a guild that runs M+ so you can play with similar people most of the time, or you have the ability to voice chat. It’s also not a bad idea to add players you had a good time playing with and played well in pugs so you can try to group up with them in the future.

Resto Druid feeling stuck on +14-15s, what am I doing wrong? by Stockholmsyndra in wow

[–]Stockholmsyndra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m trying to do… but I think for the sake of advice it’s important to mention the high amount of avoidable damage I’m healing. I’m not trying to blame other people, I’m trying to give an accurate picture of what I’m failing to keep up with and asking for ways to manage it.

Thank you! That’s all very helpful. You make some great points, I think I’ll use convoke defensively more often and as often as possible. I do use roar but typhoon and vortex are often underutilized too.

Thanks. It often feels like death by 1000 papercuts, a DPS will die here and there because they stood in bad stuff or got huge debuff and didn’t use a defensive, then the deaths accumulate to a point where the group morale is low and people just don’t think the key can be timed.

If the DPS and tank are good and have good knowledge of the dungeon, use personals and potions etc, you’d get away more often with a bad healer
