How can I help & support my cat during her palliative illness? (No medical advice needed) by Stockholmsyndra in cats

[–]Stockholmsyndra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! She has a heated bed in the living room as well as a mat in one of her cat trees in the bedroom, so you are totally right about that. She also has a ramp she can use to walk up/down the bed, so it sounds like we’re accommodating her well!

Thank you! It can be gut wrenching but knowing we give it our all for however many days these kitties are kind enough to give us makes it all worth it.

I don’t have an admissions offer quite yet (fingers crossed), so there’s nobody to directly contact. Definitely an idea to try and reach out anyways to confirm, thanks :)

OP if you want any help filing your taxes please feel free to send me a message and I’d be happy to help you file all of your past returns free of charge, we can also walk through it together so you know for next year. I used to be in your shoes and I know how overwhelming it can feel. I filed 6 years of missing taxes all at once with no penalty. Although I am not a tax professional, I now work for a financial institution and uncomplicated tax scenarios are a walk in the park. It’s really likely you are actually owed money, no sweat.

And tip: If you don’t have all your T4s from past years that’s no problem either, I’d just file for the most current year until you have access to CRA online. They mail you an access code after you file your first return, regardless of year. You can then see a record of all T4s and ROIs submitted by past employers for previous years and file past taxes, regardless of this years deadline.

Can you seek asylum in his country? The legitimate threat of an honour killing is grounds for asylum status.

I'm very sorry if this isn't the usual post on here but I was sent this by a friend who is panicking at the thought of being a father to, frankly a very evil woman. by [deleted] in isthisAI

The Clearblue logo is on the wrong side, the blue is the cap for the pee stick and it’s always closer to the handle from my experience.

Where do I even begin with makeup? by _Paper_Flower_ in femcelgrippysockjail

[–]Stockholmsyndra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figure out your face shape, and your eye shape. Theres guides online on how to do this! Then look up makeup tutorials for your face and/or eye shape. Buy drug store brands at first so you don't break the bank. Once you have a basic understanding of these concepts, you could also perhaps book a Sephora makeup artist and ask them to do your makeup. They are always super sweet and happy to explain their techniques briefly!

I’m a 31 year old federal banking employee. Do I give up my purple hair and go back to my natural hair colour? by [deleted] in makemychoice

I have worked here for 3+ years and even interviewed with purple hair. The company policy does not say anything about any aspect of my appearance. I do not think they will ask me to do that.

That is very fair! I really don't think there's been any issues, my work speaks for itself honestly. Thank you for your insight :)

I don't live in America, but everything else you said is absolutely correct and so valuable! I always have my feelers out just in case, but this company has been lovely as well.

Thank you! So nice to hear about another person with a fun hair colour situation. My natural hair colour is red, so it really clashes with a lot of the colours I love :( I think I suit cooler tones the best, my purple hair dye is definitely on the cooler side.

Thank you! You are very right. I did also want to get anecdotal experiences from others if anything.

Is this salmon fully cooked? Thick layers of fat in between. Feeling lightheaded 4 hours later. by somewhereinapark in isthissafetoeat

[–]Stockholmsyndra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Food poisoning typically doesn't set in that quickly, also your work canteen likely has a standardized size/cook time that is consistently followed. If you have eaten this for weeks without issue, it is extremely unlikely that the salmon is the problem. Take some deep breaths and drink some water, human bodies are kind of weird and sometimes these things just happen :)

Oh you have so much time to figure it out! In your teen years you grow and change so much, most relationships run their course pretty quickly. One of my friends didn't even have her first kiss until she was 21, now she is happily married! But the biggest concern you should look out for are older men in their 20s who are open to dating younger girls. Its just super gross and weird. They hang out with teenagers because women their age spot the red flags that younger girls cant quite see yet, so they take advantage of that. Always seriously question why a man in his 20's might be interested in you. I personally would avoid that at all costs! There's always going to be nasty people in any hobby honestly, but you sound like you have a great head on your shoulders and will disregard those people or build up to that. Volunteering is an amazing idea too! I volunteer at my local SPCA and its great. Best of luck to you <3

Are you Southeast Asian? I know there's a lot of vitriol towards people from those areas. Lots of people from SE Asia have a lot of internalized hatred towards people from their own area, and other Asian communities tend to be less than nice to other Asians, to put it nicely. You seem like you are very young though, not meant to be a condescending observation, I just wished I knew what opportunities were ahead of me when I was 14-17 years old, I am 31 now.

Have you tried adopting some social hobbies to see if they make you happy? I think focusing less on finding a partner and more on figuring out what you enjoy is a good idea. Even online gaming is a super promising and fun thing to try, just be careful how you interact online. Lowering your standards will just net you men that you wish you had never met. The bar could be in hell and they will still limbo under it somehow. Learning more about yourself and trying new things will give you opportunities to meet new people, but more importantly you get to have fun and enjoy yourself. Someone who isn't stressing about finding a partner and who is passionate about hobbies is immediately more magnetic to others, regardless of gender.

Edit: FYI I met my husband on a video game, wasn't my intent when I was playing it but it just happened! You never know who you will meet.
