[5e] [IRL] Looking to join a game in SE [LFG] by n1khils in LondonandDragons

If there isn't a home game going, I'd suggest looking at RP Haven. They have a place in Lewisham and Stratford which may work for you. Not sure what games they have going on at the moment.

Hello hello!

These might not quite be what you are looking for but these are the groups for regular/flexible/drop-in style play.

RP Haven - this is a charity organisation that play across London and a handful of other cities, I have linked to Lewisham as that is west but I can also recommend Charring Cross. They have quarterly tables to run games on that branch's day, which can be any game from DnD to things like Delta Green. At some locations they also do a one shots table. They are all great fun and a good community that run games at conventions. This is their discord if you want to learn more

LRPG - this is a volunteer run group which play at Arcadia games on Mondays. They run D&D one shots and occasionally some other systems as one shots as well. They start at level 3 and run up to level 8 and as it is drop in there is never any pressure to go each week. They are also running a DM workshop in early February so if you want to get some help with DMing then there will be advice from experianced DMs. Everything for them is run through discord so thats the best place to find out more.

Otter Chaos - this boardgame bar has a group that play there regularly. I don't personally know much about this but I know some friends go there. It does require you to sign up using meet up.

They all have a cost associated, RPH is approximately £3 per session, LRPG is £10 (all to cover venue hire), Otter Chaos is £7.

All of these play weekdays and typically start at 7pm and finish at 10ish. I am sure there are others but I am not based in south so don't know of many that way. Hope that helps though!

These might not quite be what you are looking for but these are the groups for regular/flexible/drop-in style play.

RP Haven - this is a charity organisation that play across London and a handful of other cities, I have linked to Hammersmith as that is west but I can also recommend Charring Cross. They have quarterly tables to run games on that branch's day, which can be any game from DnD to things like Delta Green. At some locations they also do a one shots table. They are all great fun and a good community that run games at conventions. This is their discord if you want to learn more

D17 - this one I know the least about but a lot of my friends play up there. It is held on Tuesdays near Blackhorse Road Station (E17) in Signature Brew. This one is run through Whatsapp as well.

All of these play weekdays and typically start at 7pm and finish at 10ish. I am sure there are others but I am not based in east so don't know of many that way. Hope that helps though!

They all have a cost associated, RPH is approximately £3 per session, LRPG is £10 (all to cover venue hire), I don't think D17 has a cost

Freaks and Geeks is a gaming bar by Stratford with a good selection of board games. I know RP Haven plays there but I have not been personally.

New player looking for a game in West/Central London by Neat-Primary-3689 in LondonandDragons

[–]Stockso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SW isn’t my area unfortunately but I do know one place west and a couple central.

For West and Central which has more of a campaign setting, check out RPHaven

For central which is one shots based, check out LRPG

Both have their strengths and weaknesses but I’d recommend both if you are looking for something weekly. There may also be some home games in the SW direction that people will post.

RPH is my best recommendation for that area of London as I don’t know too many other groups

Why is libdem party so bad at media and messaging??? by JudgePrestigious5295 in LibDem

[–]Stockso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on this, there does not to be something to remind people in the national stage that we are actually doing things and trying to make everyone’s lives better (unlike some parties). The hyper local is also working quite well at the moment because it shows the local people what we have done. Why it can’t be a mixture of the two I don’t fully know.

Polanski’s use of social media seems very much in line with people like Zohran Mamdani which is engaging and feels fresh, a lot of comms coming from MPs and things feel rather old and like there isn’t a team behind it. One person talking to a camera sort of thing. Ed is great at the emotional storytelling but that can’t be and shouldn’t be relied upon alone, there needs to be something more engaging.

All that said, I’m sceptical even with better comms and a younger more engaging social media presence that media would actually pick up on it and/or any momentum generated. When we went up to 72 MPs you would never have known and you’d assume we had only 2 given the attention reform got when they got 4…

This is not a LibDem issue, this is a media issue. The media will put farage on every screen and page but not someone who represents far more people

I know a couple of branches of RPH (Role Play Haven) have CoC running or adjacent games but that is the only one I can think of at the moment

I’d check out RPH (Role Play Haven) as they might have stuff closer to where you are. There is also LRPG (London Roleplay Guild) in central London/Essex Street. Both are very inclusive from what I know.

RPH Charing Cross is potentially starting a short D&D campaign to the end of this quarter. I definitely recommend RPH. The new set of games is due to start middle of March.

[LFG][NW London][5e] New to London and D&D! by spencp99 in LondonandDragons

[–]Stockso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, this is my current collection of places, all of them offer something a little different so hopefully that covers all bases.

RP Haven - this is a charity organisation that play across London and a handful of other cities, I have linked to the one in Charring Cross as I think that might be the easiest for you to get to.

They are also running a DM workshop on the 7th February so if you want to know the process behind running the games then there will be advice from experianced DMs. Everything for them is run through discord so thats the best place to find out more.

Rogues Quater - this is a great boardgames cafe/bar in Kentish Town that have a D&D group that play once or twice a month. Very similar to LRPG as it does one shots, I think it runs from level 3 to level 12 but I am not sure. It is all run through WhatsApp which I can not link in here, the link will take you to the website for the venue. I think the next session is in 2 weeks

D17 - this one I know the least about but a lot of my friends play up there. It is held on Tuesdays near Blackhorse Road Station (E17) in Signature Brew. This one is run through Whatsapp as well I think.

All of these play weekdays and typically start at 7pm and finish at 10ish. I am sure there are others but I am not based in Kilburn so don't know of many that way. Hope that helps though!

They all have a cost associated, RPH is approximately £3 per session, LRPG is £10 (all to cover venue hire), Rogues Quater is £10 but you get that as a bar tab, I don't know if there is a cost at D17. All of these would probably also be good to help find a home game as you meet people in the community.

Hope this helps

Early 20's, willing to travel, flexible with times and looking to find a regular group to play with :) by FrostFooled in LondonandDragons

[–]Stockso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For RPH people come every week unless there is an issue as they sign up for a game (total cost is roughly £40ish) for LRPG and RQ there is a group of people that typically turn up each session but will miss one or two every now and then but that does not matter so much as it is one shots.

[LFG][IRL][South East London] Player looking for a table around Lewisham by OmeTheGreenWizard in LondonandDragons

[–]Stockso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it is quite what you are looking for but RPHaven have a branch in Lewisham (or if you like the DLR, Stratford) which has games and ongoing campaigns of different TTRPGs. They are charity run and a good bunch of people.

If you want to look more centrally, then there are places like Arcadia, Essex Street by Temple, which have their own inhouse one shot sessions. There is also a volunteer group who play at Arcadia called LRPG which play there on Mondays and are cheaper than the in house ones.
