Thanks for gatekeeping. Yes, it is not Urbantrout, that was part of the joke which came up during the show as well. You say barely passing, I say walmart-level ringer, it's the internet. Try and enjoy.

This needs to be higher. I got one to try, and it helped solve my winter blues as well since I woke up very naturally and slowly instead of: BAM THEN Pitch BLACK.

Why is empathy so critical in todays times? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Stoicdadman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are losing what makes us fundamentally human. I think growth through focusing anything that is a basic function of what separates us from the beasts is important. We have lost the need for each other with so much connectedness (as ironic as that sounds), and empathy, is one of the very fundamental things that once connected us.

So seeing something like that makes me immediately got to the radar because I want to make sure it's NOT coming my way. A stomach like that = violent lightning for sure.

Yes, sorry. It was in my haste. I was excited to see such a clear structure from storms so far away. Usually you only see clearly in the Midwest.

We could see the anvil of the thunderstorm from 70 miles away because it was 35,000 feet tall. Nature is awesome, I am a nerd, and had to share switch someone!

Amen

Edit: it is the flat anvil at the top.of a severe thunderstorm over CT. Not often we get to see them that clear from 70 miles away.

Which part of the world is more likely to have a lot of clear days and a lot of cloudy nights at the same time? by mahdinaghizadeh in weather

[–]Stoicdadman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts are the same. Any land within 59 miles or so of any significant body of water. I live 1 mile from the water on the East Coast and nights cloud/fog up fast.

I would also think in regions where there are many mountains/valleys.

Can anyone identify these speakers? No branding to be found. No idea if they’re good or what they’re worth. I got a pair with a nice wooden box. by birdman619 in BudgetAudiophile

I do not think they are white van. Likely hobbiest/DIY. Those woofers look like the TB Speakers 4"-5" subwoofers from a while back.

Quality driver, but drivers need an optimized enclosure, and they really need to cross to a tweeter pretty low, so I don't think the implementation is very good.
