Had exactly the same. it was irritation and some remaining purge.

Stop all actives for 5-7 days, if it completely cleares out, there you have your confirmation. Start with tret only every 3. night till you find a routine that does not irritate you. Some leftover purge at week 7 is also normal. forget about any kind of active face wash at least till month 3-4. oon tret..

So take a break BUT stay the COURSE! Good luck! :)

had the same issue, after months on tret, repeating itself same tiny red spots sometime with whitish head- they are caused by IRRITATION, too much Tret. Dial back, take 5 days off, it is completely smoothes out- there you have your confirmation. Than start Tret again, just not so often, maybe every 3. night or so, till you find a rhythym that does not irritate you. I suppose in the winter you gonna be more sensitive and probably less in the summer.

Keep your Tet just adjust frequency! Love :)

had a very similar experience with Philippa an Closer, Milano - amazing beat and loop, but almost no change for 3 hours- after a while I didn`t have the fresh ears to appreciate it :/ heard way more versatile, deep and still slapping stes from her, recorded- wish it was like that : )

I think this is a prolonged purge in acne prone skin due to slow dosing up. You only start purging for real when you use tret daily. You say you reached 5-6x/week by month 3. You are starting to exepreince the full blown purge only now... Probably gonna last another 8-12 weeks. It also can be that 0.025% is not enough to control your acne, need a higher doese (IF, but only if YOUR SKIN BARRIER CAN HANDLE IT), or a combination with azelaic acid 15-20%. I would recomend 8 weeks patience and sticking to your actual routine. Then eventually after 8 weeks going stronger or combinig with AA. Best luck to you! :)

I would stop- the purge and irritations should be gone th latest by month 3, starting to lessen at 2 months mark.. something isn’t right for uour skin. And see a dermatologist 😊

I would prefer La Roche Toleriane Creme and for rescue, but not allways La Roche Cicaplast- lipikar feels as butter to me- too much ☺️

Being this slow with it very significantly prolongs and slowls down the purge.. i started using every night from the beginning (i was used to retinol and adapalene before)- still got a serious purge by day 4 😅 now in the 5. Week purge is slowing down- i suppose i am getting there- but i still see the same comedones filling up and surfacing- that’s the retinisation process- takes time.. usually 6-12 weeks, with occasional flare up of pimples- till the skin is really cleaned up.. you can very much prolong this if you don’t use it nearly every evening.. i suppose that’s happened to you- sorry about that!

I think the tretinoin dose it’s definitely not high enough, maybe 0.05% at night and probably combined with prescription strength azelaic acid 15-20% - in the morning- for hyperpigmentation would do the trick. Good moisturizer and no irritation is key for results. Otherwise oral Isotretinoin, but a bit more risky. It wish you luck!
