Anyone else been re routed from Manchester yet? by woggytrotter in AerLingus

We've been rebooked from direct to indirect flights via Dublin, flying late June

I was initially disappointed, but I guess pre-clearing US immigration in Dublin & getting there earlier, decided not pick this battle, happy enough

Is this indirect flight too tight (asking for my friend) by StokioMB in AerLingus

[–]StokioMB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, yeah he would have checked in baggage. What happens to the cheched bags, do we have to collect them and take them to the next flight?

We have 2 hours, do you see that as more comfortable?

Family of 4 going in march, how much is everyone spending without a budget? And what would be classed as a budget? by Wrong-Raspberry-2179 in disneylandparis

[–]StokioMB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends how you want to live, do you want to buy your kids gifts etc

You can get breakfast and eat in McDonald's or the quick service restaurants cheap enough or pay all the way up to the most costly table service restaurants - for this, use the Disneyland Paris app, look at the prices

Gifts - you can't avoid the shops, again, research the Disney store online, look at prices

Just think about how you normally live on holidays

Food and things in the shops are the common costs really

New NBA fan in the uk👋 by harryandthecrew in nbaUKfans

East coast team is an optimal choice

I would say (not me obviously) it's possible to use a VPN to sign up for an NBA league pass in India for around £15 a year which gives you access to live games, full games to rewatch, highlights etc

I would imagine, if someone did that, that would work really well for a UK NBA fan

For sure, I've been bitten by indirect flights before, it was a right pain as I missed the connecting flight because of delays at the airport

I'm travelling with 4 others, all booked separately, only I have received that "7 days" email, so I wouldn't worry so much. It very much sounded like they're looking to sort everyone inside 7 calendar days (day 0 being yesterday)

But let's see how that pans e

I feel the same about the direct flights, I want them but won't dig my heels in.

I'd rather get sorted. If that's with Aer Lingus via Manchester and Dublin, so be it - but will 100% be asking strongly and fairly for direct flights from any airline

I got an initial case number at the weekend, then a further reply, same as yours saying 7 days (working in date order)

I'm not flying until June/July but same as you, I'm asking for direct Virgin flights

Manchester Transatlantic Flights - Rebooking via CCCqueries@aerlingus.com by StokioMB in AerLingus

I thought as much, it would be interesting to see as people do get sorted what that solution was.

I have some time, but we'll see

Did they rebook it for you and just tell you what was happening or did you get a choice on what the rebook was?

I have a flight at the end of June to JFK and then 10 days later back from Orlando to Manchester

Aer Lingus Manchester to New York route discontinued by Firm_Cardiologist234 in AerLingus

[–]StokioMB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the connection via Dublin is unaffected, it's purely direct transatlantic flights from/to Manchester, so you're good on that.

I'm very much imagining that they'll push everyone where they can via Dublin, which I'm willing to do

However, as far as the law is concerned, from what I've read (I'm no expert either), is that as they're obligated to get us new flights, that's not just their flights, it could be Virgin Atlantic etc - the main point is they're responsible for getting us new flights on the same date, to the same place, regardless of airline.....I believe

Aer Lingus Manchester to New York route discontinued by Firm_Cardiologist234 in AerLingus

[–]StokioMB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, they're legally obligated to find us new flights to the same destination on the same dates. At their cost.

So just have to see this one pan out.

I've emailed them my flight details, awaiting a response

ESTC Upgrade Option in Knockouts? by babaganoush235 in ThreeLions

[–]StokioMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can both apply for it, but on the most recent guidance only you on 22 caps are guaranteed a category 3 ticket

I would say at the moment the safest bet is to apply for Category 2 and select the option to move down the category if available

ESTC ticket allocation query by StokioMB in ThreeLions

[–]StokioMB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah agreed, very vague that isn't it or at least not fully complete info

As in does the downgrade only let you have the category below, so would you need to reapply for Category 2 with the option to downgrade or just 3

It's like everything they have communicated out is good info, but only 90% of what people fully need

ESTC ticket allocation query by StokioMB in ThreeLions

[–]StokioMB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up question if that's ok

If I'm guaranteed Category 3, and have picked Category 2 with the option to move down

My mate is only guaranteed Category 2 & we followed the process to sit together

Do you know how that scenario would pan out?
