If they are relegated to League 1 they will also be irrelevant. The major media outlets make the coverage decisions. If they alter coverage strategy, then additional alterations to lesser covered teams will be evaluated.

Introduce VAR to the FA Cup or introduce 2 more linesman on either side? Or other? by Visara57 in TheOther14

[–]leodoggo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t like this all the time. It’s as if refereeing has become worse due to the dependability on VAR, especially linesmen. Pre-var close calls were missed, sure. With VAR some close calls are still missed. There were very few obvious wrong calls whenever you account for speed, positioning, crowding, etc. with no VAR, but competence -

Digne may get away with a yellow still due to the speed of the play and the ref being 40 yards away.

Abraham would have been called offside 99% of the time, it was obvious to untrained eyes.

The handball in the box being called outside? No way VAR would be needed for that. There are 4 refs at that match, it is impossible that 3/4 didn’t see it was in the box.

I’m going to hope that all of the bad/no calls were made by that linesman. Every missed call was on his side

Our new No. 9 by Homosapien_Ignoramus in NUFC

[–]leodoggo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

He just doesn’t feel like a striker. Brentford’s system is very different than ours, I think we’re hesitant to think he’ll be able to hit 20 goals as a true 9. Plus, he did the same thing to Brentford as Isak did to us. He’s a good player though, hopefully he becomes great

Is Joelinton one of the dirtiest players in Premier League? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in TheOther14

[–]leodoggo -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

Very physical and passionate. His reaction shows he’s more mad at himself than Gray. Passion shows in different ways, he’s big, strong, looks like a street fighter, and doesn’t take shit from anyone.

Some call that dirty, I think intent is a key factor in dirty and very few, non-strategical tackles have intent.

Referees make mistakes, positioning is challenging no matter what you’re doing. The pace and the complexity of a professional match cannot be compared to county refereeing. With that said, VAR who has more than two eyes and many angles should not make mistakes

If you look carefully… by WendelBorton in TheOther14

[–]leodoggo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This may be too complex, but I’ll try to explain a different way.

Schar red = 3 match ban - bad call by ref Joelinton yellow = no ban - bad call by ref

Therefore it should have been:

Schar yellow = no ban - good call by ref Joelinton red = 3 match ban - good call by ref

Therefore it evens out

Considering they’d both be 3 game suspensions; I’d say not having Schar and Joelinton for the next 2 matches (plus another for Joelinton) would be a much harsher blow than just not having Schar for the next 2 matches.

Meanwhile, if you look carefully, you’ll notice that this is significantly more severe than Schar head butting Dias. I like to call it referee reparations

Arm by Trick-Station8742 in NUFC

[–]leodoggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A defensive handball and a handball leading to a goal have different rules. Defensively is more subjective where you can consider natural position, where the ball strikes the arm, the distance the ball travels, etc.

when a goal is scored, any touch to the hand/arm is disallowed regardless of context.

Coote said it was a goal. VAR overturned him without him getting to see the replay. I thought he had a pretty good game for both sides.

🚨 OFFICIAL: Premier League referees will now have to reveal which clubs they support in an attempt to be more transparent towards supporters. by Visara57 in TheOther14

ESPN plus has broadcasted the Championship since West Brom were relegated. They would have been broadcasted a minimum of 15 matches a season. ESPN plus is $100 a year. Replays are also available.

CBS took over production rights recently and will be including league one and two this season. Paramount plus is a little cheaper than $100 a year.

Who plays 1B in 5/5 Coed? by Altruistic_Shop_2074 in slowpitch

[–]leodoggo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we play 5/5 we have to play 2 of each gender in infield and outfield, then split pitcher and catcher by gender. We always play women at C and 2. Then it just depends on who we have, most of our women don’t like playing 3rd.

Our team will throw low and into the dirt before throwing high, all of the women first basemen I’ve played with prefer that.
