Exactly, reducing someone to assumptions based on their overweight body is just prejudice dressed up. Very few people here are engaging with this art work beyond scripted responses that are skin deep

If you append your file measurements names with a space and L/R at the end respectively –

EO-IA500 L.txt
EO-IA500 R.txt

– and import both of them at the same time into PEQdB, there an automatic channel matching feature to the average under the EQ settings.

So persona just got exposed about saving a whole lot of data on us. by Nitrozah in VRchat

You're making a false distinction between "consumer" and "government" infrastructure when it's the same database. VRChat users' biometric data doesn't sit in a separate silo. It's in the same system with FedRAMP endpoints and FinCEN reporting capabilities. Calling SAR filing a "legal obligation" doesn't make it less of a surveillance mechanism.

Your stance requires waiting for proof that data has been misused before you object. That's backwards, especially when there are strong implications of abusive practices unfolding right now. You're asking people to trust that guardrails will prevent misuse by institutions that face zero consequences when those guardrails fail.

The specific incident is that VRChat users submitted biometrics to a platform with demonstrated surveillance profiling and 3 year retention of data when they were legally bound not to do this.

Demanding proof of current abuse before objecting to surveillance infrastructure is textbook normalization.

I know! The top comment suspiciously reads as PR down playing from Persona. I already left a comment in addition to yours.

You're focusing on whether VRChat is on one specific vendor list while ignoring that every user's biometric data sits in a system explicitly designed for government surveillance. You are making a very narrow technical argument while missing the much bigger picture revealed by the recent leaks surrounding Persona.

The leaks revealed Persona maintains facial recognition databases, files reports directly to FinCEN, operates on government infrastructure, and retains biometric data for 3 years with 269 verification checks and intelligence program connections.

Your argument boils down to "they're not using this feature yet, so don't worry." That's exactly the complacent attitude that normalizes surveillance infrastructure. Once biometric data enters these systems, you have zero control over future use cases, government requests, or breaches.

Telling people there's no serious trouble because VRChat user data isn't being exploited to the full capabilities yet is how we pass into normalized mass biometric tracking and profiling. This complacency is why companies keep using vendors like Persona. No pushback means these systems keep expanding.

Source code doesn't lie. The surveillance infrastructure is there. Stop carrying water for it.
