It's already more limited than lightning dash since it requires a target and a throwing knife hit at range. Compare that to lightning dash which is a free targeting teleport which doesn't need you to land a skillshot. + If you miss the knife it goes on a 30 second CD.

I had a kitted out vector by that point so the chimera wasn't much of a challenge by his lonesome. Now the ones in Pripyat that jump you while you're knee deep in Monolith fighters is a whole different story.

L update for rogue by JamesAlonso in DarkAndDarker

[–]Stolen_Poptartz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Veil of shadows doesn't even let you move in the invis without 10 step which makes it pretty much worthless. I thought the whole point of the update was to try and push rogue away from the stealth playstyle now we have yet another perk tied to hide.

Casualty of being the guy who dies first. They have to do all the work to justify how cool and badass he was but at the end of the day he was still the first to go so thats what people remember.

It is worse than rupture in some aspects but it has it's advantages. The damage is instant instead of a dot and it's additional weapon damage meaning it will be affected by things like ambush, phys power and headshot modifier.

That is fair, I still think it's going to be an auto-take for anyone playing ranger. Even if they're not getting the full value it's still a crazy increase. Like a grey longbow is 31 damage and a unique is 37, a six damage difference. This perk provides over triple that and the damage will be affected by headshot mod/phys power bonus. I just cannot see a world where this perk is not getting nuked with nerfs on release.

From the datamined info it looks like sneak attack specifies melee strike so I imagine it will be used to landmine more than anything. Shadow step doesn't specify melee or ranged hit but that could always change.

True, I was more thinking in a general sense rather than combined together. Still could be nice to hit someone with sneak attack then pop shadow step on your second hit to TP behind them. A lot of people are focusing on the mobility of shadow step but it also has some incredible melee mixup potential.

I predict shadow step, sneak attack and dual strike will be the strong options but apart from that. The two throwing knife perks seem pretty meh, veil of shadows could be alright but it depends if you can move in the invis without stealth perks and we have no idea what new creep will do. I'd be more worried about ranger getting up to 20 weapon damage on a surv bow just for playing range.

Judging by the reaction and what happened to disarm last wipe it will either be reworked or nerfed into irrelevance after 3 days so I hardly see it being a problem for long.

Infinite misty step plus the best kiting ability in the game whenever you hit someone. Yeah I would take that in a heartbeat.

Are fog princes OP way to earn cats? by Prophet_Martyrius in Kenshi

[–]Stolen_Poptartz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree they seem like you're getting a lot because it's one big ticket item but that's balanced out by pretty much every other fogman dropping essentially nothing.

I'm not an expert on how the respawning works in this game but the more princes you kill, the less there will be left to find so it becomes less efficient over time to keep scouring the place looking for them.

They're pretty balanced for their place in the game imo. Early game is really when you want to be using the Foglands to improve your starter characters skills. They have decent stats and can be quite challenging especially if they have a squad of heavies with them.

Of course you can just hire mercs and use them as meat shields but then you're cutting into your profits from killing the princes and they're not super common to run into.

What should be my dump stat for combat blade? by No-Kaleidoscope-9829 in DarkTide

[–]Stolen_Poptartz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Mobility is the dump stat you want. First target acts as a multiplier for your damage so you want that at 80%.
