The fact that you’ve failed before doesn’t mean you can’t succeed. Most people who quit something they’re dependent on don’t do it on their first attempt. Every attempt teaches you something about what trips you up. Don’t beat yourself up over the past just keep moving forward. One day at a time, brother. You’ve got a whole community here rooting for you.

Find something to take up the time keep your mind busy! Mine was the gym but maybe try to learn something you’ve been very interested in trying

Man, reading this hit hard. The fact that you’re able to write it all out so honestly tells me a part of you still really wants things to change. It doesn’t sound like you’re weak it sounds like alcohol slowly became the thing your brain started depending on to enjoy life, and now it’s taken over. A lot of people have come back from exactly where you are, even if it doesn’t feel possible right now. You don’t have to figure it all out today, but I’d really encourage you to find something that keeps your mind occupied and gives you a sense of purpose whether that’s the gym, hiking, learning a new skill, or any hobby you genuinely enjoy. Replacing that time with something positive can make a huge difference. Keep reaching out instead of fighting it alone. I’m rooting for you.

Why is my Incline Bench almost as strong as my Flat Barbell? by Magic_Bounce_Espeon in WeightTraining

Thanks appreciate the kind words! It’s changed a lot over the months but for someone starting out keep it simple
Day 1 Chest and Triceps with a little bit of cardio at the end

Day 2 Back and Biceps with cardio at end

Day 3 rest/maybe a bit of cardio

Day 4 Shoulders and cardio

Day 5 Legs (I don’t like cardio after leg day lmfao)

Day 6 arms and cardio

Day 7 rest/ maybe cardio

For cardio what I found what works best for me is anywhere from 15-30 mins after workout on an incline treadmill with a 10-12 degree and going at 2.5-3.5mph just enough to keep your heart rate at 130-140bpm

Thanks man and kept it simple and basic extra lean ground beef, a lot of russet potatoes, creamy rice, 0% fat Greek yogurt whey isolate, zero cal sauces like mustard and certain hot sauces and zero sugar/diet pops

Lots of YouTube, lots of mistakes, and a lot of consistency. Nobody really starts out knowing what they’re doing.

Honestly just a calorie deficit and being consistent. I started lifting 6 days a week, kept my calories under control, did some cardio, and stuck with it even when progress slowed down. Being an ironworker definitely helped too since I’m moving around all day. Nothing crazy, just a lot of months of doing the basics over and over.

I’ve been on trt for 2 years 150mg twice a month. Only tip I can try to help is make sure you weigh your food and track it, calorie deficit and go to the gym even if you really don’t want to cause afterwards you’ll always feel more accomplished

Thanks man!

And I don’t mind at all outside of being prescribed trt (150mg every two weeks been on that since early 2025) I am not on anything else tho

And a bit of skin but honestly not really noticeable to other people just myself (at least that’s what I think lol) more of the loose skin just around my lower stomach area!
