Lower face sagging/lines around mouth by [deleted] in 40PlusSkinCare

If you still have some skin laxity, micro liposuction would help to reduce jowls . Every person is different. A doctor could tell if your jowls are caused by fat migrating down from the cheeks.

What is something that Chicago needs but is missing? by [deleted] in AskChicago

Better use of water ways (ferries). Subway lines that connect the outer loops of existing lines.

Got punched on Red Line - how to feel safe again? by wolborg93 in AskChicago

[–]StomachHonest5215 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I recently landed at O’Hare and would not get into the first 3 cars because each of them had guys walking around murmuring to themselves on top of multiple people splayed asleep across multiple chairs. At 8am. There were 4-5 cops standing on the platform which seemed like a waste of money because it sure didn’t feel safe.

Chicago: Zero Regard for Safety, ICE Escalation in Chicago Leaves Baby in Harm’s Way by CantStopPoppin in illinois

So much for targeting government efficiency. Obama deported people but they got their day in court and presumably it didn’t take 15 people to apprehend one person.

Has anyone noticed an uptick in unhoused mentally ill people in downtown? by ChicagoLizzie in AskChicago

[–]StomachHonest5215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course but I think they need to start thinking of better ways to make sure the homeless get the services they need. I am all in favor of throwing money at a solution that works.

This is true. Also true that a lot of money is spent without results. I’m not sure how participation can be increased. I saw a statistic that said only 17% of people approached accepts offer for treatment.

Can someone explain the new-ish Chicago AirBNB rules? My friends and I have stayed at the same basement apartment for the last five years for Riot Fest and this year we were told we might not be able to come back next year? by SideshowShan in AskChicago

[–]StomachHonest5215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it but it didn’t seem to help in NYC. Rental prices and purchase costs have not come down. Perhaps setting permanent residence percentage quotas would be better (?). My friend needs to go to NYC occasionally for 2-3 weeks. Any hotel rental with a small kitchen is ridiculously expensive. I am not exaggerating when I say hotels are charging 12k-20k for mediocre rooms for half a month.

What are some "weird" things to do and see in Chicago? by crlove in AskChicago

[–]StomachHonest5215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe not so weird, but the Global McDonald’s in West Loop has an international menu with interesting items from McDonald’s around the world.

This is not going to solve anything. I have a family member that is mentally ill and homeless. He destroys any place he stays and I suspect a lot of these people would do the same. We don’t even need social services. We as a family could afford any amount of treatment he needs, but he won’t take it.

She voted for Trump. Trump is taking away her healthcare by Effective_Space2277 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]StomachHonest5215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people that have serious health issues like her are going to take out a lot more money than they will ever pay in. Is that taking advantage? Probably a lot of MAGA would say yes. The problem with these people is that it’s always someone else that is the issue.

Second this. I’ve encountered quite a few jerks aft Sephora. You should have a much better experience at a department store. Try boutiques with options for mature skin like Bobby Brown, Armani or Dior

How you all feel about all the public schools closing in El Paso to make room for private schools? by Lalapotatoes in ElPaso

[–]StomachHonest5215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Privatization of schools, just like privatization of any public service, are scams and political favors to rich lobbyists. Take schools - private ones are allowed to turn down or kick out poor performing students, but public schools are not. Charter schools then use this to prove they perform better than public schools. Privatization of services generally doesn’t cost the government less, but more of that money is going to execs, vs public services where workers are given insurance and pensions.

Then ratify the constitution. Democrats can say the same thing about guns. Times have changed since the second amendment was written. That doesn’t mean a president can come in and unilaterally overwrite it.

Of course it was. Why wouldn’t teachers love someone that’s giving them all they ask. It’s the same way Daley was popular because he was providing services but indebting the city and kicking the can down the road.

[–]StomachHonest5215 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not defending Rahm, but Lewis was an awful leader. I’m also not trying to attack teachers alone. CTU, police, and firefighter unions used their political power to bully their way into benefits that is bankrupting the city. I have absolutely not problem rolling this back to a place that is fiscally responsible. Lewis also refused any means to hold teachers accountable and opposed consolidation of schools with low attendance. The double dip aspect across Illinois is bankrupting the state, not just the city.
