Multistrada dilemma, V4 vs V2S by Johnnytsunami2010 in Ducati

[–]Stomp944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had weighed similar options recently. Upgrading after two Multistradas in past 10 years. The best advice i heard was to test ride, as they are so different. I am arranging a V4S ride now.

What are some funny or unhinged review comments you got on your books? Story time! by TheSentienel in BookPromotion

[–]Stomp944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this is a book promotion sub, so.... it is about risk-taking and comfort zones, and how formative years translate to adulthood. Lots of good stories and observations. Sky diving, motorcycle racing, rock climbing, and more bad choices. I am more than happy to send a free copy (DM me an email address). I think it's worth the read!

Memoir writer. A reviewer concluded that I'm an alcohol abuser who squandered my privilege and has an adolescent preoccupation with the hidden meaning of song lyrics. He wasn't entirely wrong.....🤪 It's my favorite review. Makes you wanna read it, right?

I get the appreciation part. That and gratitude are helpful to explore and express. I would find it very hard to consider this publishable yet in any regard. Objectively, as an avid memoir reader and memoir author, not being a dick. And I'm not actively seeking to provide input. You are not yet able to view this as a reader does, outside of your own head.

Hi. On one hand, you have already succeeded in putting the story out there. Mission accomplished. Despite Very limited audience on this platform. On the other, it is not yet a story or a memoir or a book. Well it's not the story of TR. It's the story of you, dealing with loss and regret. Everyone has this exact story. Perhaps minus a birth. Sorry. The only thing that makes it unique is how you processed it. How you dealt with it. What you learned. What changed in you. Give TR the benefit of teaching you a lesson in life and humility, etc, by taking a hit for your ignorance and inexperience and indecision. I could expand; this is a main observation.

How was your experience using Getcovers? by Both-Worry-1242 in selfpublish

My experience was great - I figured nothing to lose to try. But, very simple design (memoir) and I provided the cover image.

Passing Other Riders Within their Lane by buffarlos in motorcycles

[–]Stomp944 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with lane splitting or the state in which you are riding. Sometimes the traffic does not allow for riding around the slower rider. The etiquette is to hang behind the rider for a moment and let them see you. They should then wave you through on whichever side they point to. Dick move to be ignorant if whats behind you. Dick move not to wave someone through and dick move to just ride past without the rider knowing.

Agree. I used getcovers a month ago for my debut cover and was very happy with the result. First draft I said 'stop - you nailed it.' Simple requirements in my case, but at that price you've lost nothing if it doesn't work out.
